Washington Post journalist brutally tortured and murdered at the Saudi Embassy in Turkey.

Trump's response?

Maybe it was "rogue killers," and he's tired of "guilty until proven innocent."

Must be nice doing so much business with the country that gave us the 9/11 terrorists.

America first my ass.

Trump is using his rather transparent cover-up dance for this that he has used umpteen other times. It very closely echos rhetoric he uses for Putin's actions as well. The NPR coverage of this I listened to this morning speculatively attributed Trump's behavior to US geopolitical strategy in countering Iran. Nary a mention of the fact that Trump might have personal financial interests related to the House of Saud that we don't know about because Republicans refuse to do anything about bribes to the Trump family or financial transparency. When people talked about the dangers of "normalization" around Trump in 2016, it was in reference to this kind of thing.

The usual. He has been a vocal critic of the Saudis Regime.

Trump Inflates Saudi Arms Deal But Stays Silent On Saudi Cash In His Own Pocket

The president claims Saudi Arabia is buying $110 billion in arms, but it stands at $14.5 billion. And he personally has reaped tens of millions of dollars in Saudi business.

But remember that time Hillary Clinton accepted Saudi money for her charity? All hell broke loose in Right Wing media.

All hell broke loose in the mainstream media on that one. Republicans have set up a system where Trump can receive bribes from foreign autocrats with impunity, Trump adopts dubious positions that favor autocrats that appear to be personally benefiting him, and the media is relatively muted about it. Meditate on that when you think about claims of liberal media bias.

You haven't linked Trump's apologetic comments on this, but while he's running interference for the the murder of a dissident journalist, remember the the right-wing media freakout when Obama bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia.

This is all part of the vast left-wing conspiracy that has been after Trump since he lucked into being elected. Haha. The Saudi government's claims of not knowing what went on there should be automatically believed and only conspiracy nuts think otherwise. You guys really should put on your tin-foil hats. Hoho.

Seriously, I wonder how we can continue to support this murderous regime and its war with Yemen. But, there is the oil and we will probably see our leaders do some half-assed sanctions depending on how much the public complains, that is if the mainstream media even gives this that much air-time.

Pompeo in front of the White House today, saying they need to give the Saudis more time to investigate.

More time to investigate? The man disappeared inside the consulate nearly 3 weeks ago.

Pompeo also spoke at length about the importance of the relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia. You definitely get the feeling that they would LOVE to sweep this under the table, and the administration would be really happy to forget about the situation.

Well, the Saudis just kicked over $100M to us. Not a bad bribe for one journalist's life.
