I'm not sure what's more ridiculous: That I'm supposed to pretend that Republicans collectively care about civility or that I'm supposed to pretend that Republicans collectively to care about the sacredness of the first amendment in political discourse. I didn't see this live, but this supposedly came right after Trump did a standard talking point of Democrats being a violent mob.
(In the context of the media attention currently on Khashoggi's murder, this is especially repugnant.)
How is Trump, who wrestled at one point in the WWF(?), praising this guy's takedown in any way, shape, or form related to the Saudis murdering one of their own? You know, for a *cough* Libertarian *cough* you sure do seem to be hyper focused on one Party's shortcomings.

Because the man who was body slammed, as well as the man who was murdered by Saudi agents, were both journalists. You can characterize the event as 'murdering one of their own' (is it better to torture and murder "one of your own"?), but it was the torture and murder of a newspaper reporter for the Washington Post. Freedom of the press is something that is under attack throughout the Arab world, something that does not seem to be of great concern to the President, as he says he buys the Saudi explanation of an interrogation gone wrong.
Donald Trump repeatedly refers to reporters as 'the enemy of the people' and forces them into pens where they can be ridiculed at his rallies. The blind hatred of the press is something that Trump shares with some, but not all Republicans. But praising a man for committing an assault because a reporter dared ask him a question is the antithesis of a free and open society.

You are serious? It's not WWF any more, it's WWE. WWE is theater. The current two events are real and authentic.
GawD.
The two events are related because they both involve journalists and messaging that is dangerously influential to the developing mindset of this country regarding the free press and anything goes violence.

So, a Saudi national is murdered in Turkey by a crown Prince, and you're linking Trump to it by a Gianforte proxy fight? Trump's State department is working the issue instead of ignoring it.
Y'all have lost your damn minds.

What the “F” is wrong with you?
A journalist was murdered and Trump immediately praises violence against journalists. You don't see any connection between these two points?

Oh well, GawdFD!* How about you deal with the comment on messaging instead of ignoring it entirely?

Go ahead. Watch the whole damn thing. You and any other handwringing hypocrites can go drink your kool-aid at the next DNC rally circlejerk telling each other how much you care about journalists getting smoked by foreign actors. If the above happened under Trump's watch you'd be losing your damn minds.
I didn't hear a PEEP about it from the open-minded, tolerant, and diverse types on this board.
