Alec "how ironic" Baldwin

In the wake of his recent arrest, Mr Baldwin offers the following:

"Normally, I would not comment on something as egregiously misstated as today's story. However, the assertion that I punched anyone over a parking spot is false. I wanted to go on the record stating as much," the tweets read. "I realize that it has become a sport to tag people w as many negative charges and defaming allegations as possible for the purposes of clickbait entertainment.
"Fortunately, no matter how reverberating the echos, it doesn't make the statements true."

How do people on the left resolve such bitter irony as they become "hoisted by their own petard"?

emphasis above is mine

Scream the accusation, and whisper the retraction.

Interesting. You're derailing your own thread. You just can't help yourself. : D

Sounds like a fitting epitaph for Fox News.

I rechecked the OP and indeed I had typed the word "irony"....thanks for making it manifest.

Given his politics, Alec strikes me as the type of person to park in the handicapped spot with a stolen sticker.

I'm actually a big Alec Baldwin fan. I've listened to his podcast interviews over the years, and read his autobiography, and loved him in 30 Rock (this is still the hardest I've ever laughed at a sitcom).

But yeah, he's got some temper issues.
