How?

The IRS won't give them to them. That's what's been set up here. Trump appointed the IRS chief and the IRS can refuse to give them Trump's taxes, and then it can go to court, possibly up to the Supreme Court, where there can be a 5-4 partisan decision where Kavanaugh is the deciding vote to not let anyone see Trump's tax returns.

Mad yet?

Inb4 something something Roberts. Justice Roberts is a card-carrying member of the Skull and Bones society with an uncannily Conservative agenda. And spanking. Weirdos.

Nah, Roberts isn't going to go against precedent. Nixon tried to go executive privilege too, but didn't work.

They need to be careful not to overreach. Didn't they learn from the Kavanaugh backlash? They should wait for Mueller's report before they decide anything about Trump. In the meantime, keep rebuilding that blue wall in the rust belt and find a candidate people can vote for. If they do that, Trump will be gone in 2020 anyway.

There will be a lot of blood spilled along the way and people will wonder why Trump just doesn't disclose his finances. Also, the democrats will be able to use their nonsense Russia theory as to why Trump just doesn't disclose his taxes. I am guessing that Trump took a lot of questionable but maybe legal deductions and perhaps he downplays his wealth for tax purposes. Or perhaps he isn't as wealthy as he brags. Trump lies and exaggerates so much about himself and has done so over the years that he became a brand/myth. Maybe the taxes will expose the myth.

It will be great political theater and a reason to vote democrat, a la Trump is horrible, the true disaster, he is evil and must be stopped, never mind that the Democrats don't really have a legislative agenda that the people want ......

I see this talking point a lot. I was wondering what the alternative Republican legislative agenda is that is preferred by the people.

I’ll take my answer off the air. Thanks.

I am arguing more from a progressive point of view. The Republican plan is to do nothing or strip whatever decent laws there are in order for their donors to benefit. No, I would like to see the Democrats come back to the people and leave their Wall Street donors. Or, maybe let's make the Democrats and Republicans irrelevant by forming a third political party. If someone would propose medicare for all (70& want this), end the wars and outrageous military spending that goes with it (I think that is a winner too), higher minimum wage (big winner), student loan reform or path to discharge in bankruptcy (big winner among millennials) and truly fight the monopolies (it is about time Google and Facebook had their economic power cut down), this would win in a landslide.

No, it would lose in a landslide. 64% of Americans say military spending is too little or just about right.

70% support medicare for all? Yeah, probably because they didn't understand the question. Once "government controlled healthcare" becomes the official label that percentage will be reduced to 50%.

What I’m pointing out is that the Republicans don’t seem to have, or care to have, an agenda that “the people want”, based on your response. From that perspective, are the Democrats in a worse situation, by comparison, regarding their own agenda? Why or why not? And why would or should the Democrats eschew any investigation into anything regardless of any other agenda?

Hold the repos feet to the fire but don't get carried away with it. Investigations certainly are a sexier part of the law rather than proposing law and debating it as Rep Schiff said on meet the press, but, there are limits. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-11-11/dems-investigate-trumps-push-punish-cnn-wapo
