Mira Ricardel is a deputy of National Security Adviser John Bolton, and one of his trusted allies. Ms. Ricardel evidently clashed with the First Lady on her recent trip to Africa. The wording of the announcement from the East Wing is curious:

It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that (Ricardel) no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House.

For a First Lady and the East Wing to be involved in pronouncements about the Nation Security Staff is (as far as I know) unprecedented. The 'honor' makes me think that Ricardel either lied or went behind Melania's back.

I would imagine the President is not happy that the First Lady elected to resolve her issues with Ms. Ricardel in public. The fact that she did so indicates at the very least that she did not think this could be resolved through normal channels in the White House.

The rumor mill has put out this involved more than just tiffs over incidents around the Africa trip, but involved Ricardel using social media to stir the crap. She apparently makes enemies easily and has, er had, more than a few in the White House.

Truth be told, it reads to me like Ricardel was playing at politics and received a hard lesson regarding power - real power that gives zero "F"s about what you or I think because it doesn't need to in any way, shape or form. And frankly, I think it's this that motivated the Don to act uncharacteristically decisively and unceremoniously in sending Ricardel packing. It seems he cares A LOT about what Melania thinks while she is much less concerned with the Don's game of playing at being a world leader.

It is quite clear to me now what transpired. Melania wanted to wrap the rhinoceros horn in gold foil. Ricardel objected because she thought it would cause unfavorable optics.

Melania replied, "Don't be silly darling, Donald would insist on wrapping the rhinosaurus pointy thing in gold foil before bringing it into the White House. I will put my foot down over this, but not in these Louboutin stilettos."

Ha! I bet you have no real knowledge of the FLOTUS stilettos and only came up with that name after reading a caption in some news report. The rest could be interpreted by any seer and revelator.
