It's Officially Time To Stop The Holy War

My nephew turned 9 years old last week. BYU has not won a single football game against Utah during his entire life.
At what point does this rivalry not become a rivalry? It's clear BYU doesn't have the talent to compete with Utah and that gap is just growing and growing.
It's embarrassing and I wish BYU would take a break from the Holy War until they can get into a conference and attract some talent that can compete with Utah.
This is no longer a Holy War, but a Mountain Meadow's Massacre.

I fell asleep before the 4th quarter so it was a pleasant surprise to see the heathens pick up another win against the Lord's university.

Doesn't Satan get tired of winning?

Utes don’t want/need this game either. As soon as the current deal is up, this game is no more.

I personally have no reason to follow the rivalry. If my memory is not playing tricks however, the University of Utah holds the battle advantage of high ground with a commanding view of the valley.

Go Utes! What an amazing comeback!
I'm for continuing the rivalry game. It's a great tradition and I love needling my BYU loving relatives every year over this game. We were texting back and forth last night giving each other some grief. It was great. And what was even better is that BYU had hope and that hope was dashed at the end.

Yeah, getting into a decent conference is not going to happen as long as the Church continues its bigoted stance against LGBT. And their "honor" code is another hurdle for them to overcome when it comes to recruiting, so even if they were to get into a conference they still are at a huge disadvantage in getting top prospects to go there.
Somewhere Blixa is doing a little dance.

I’m a huge Utah fan and pretty much hate BYU, but considering BYU beat Utah 9 times in a row in the 1980s and 19 out of 21 times from 1972 to 1992, I think it’s premature to say the rivalry is dead or should die (though I’m not a big fan of the name Holy War).
Though BYU certainly has problems looking forward.

Non P5 five teams every once in a while beat a decent p5 squad. But the benefit of p5 grants even the bad p5 programs with more access to good talent. It’ll be that way forever. They might as well either make a separate league in between p5 and fcs or figure out a way to even it out. Sorry BYU you is out of the elites
