The man just can't stop telling the truth

In August 2016 Trump made the following statement at a campaign rally:
If I win I may never see my property -- I may never see these places again. But because I'm going to be working for you, I'm not going to have time to go golfing, believe me. Believe me. Believe me, folks.
The man who criticized Obama for spending too much time on a golf course has spent twice as much time golfing as his predecessor.
believe me. Believe me. Believe me, folks.

I kind of liked it when Obama went golfing. That meant less damage being done to the country than if he were "working."

Not so with Trump. He does damage wherever he goes. However, some of his remarks like, "Whose boat is this boat?" did form the basis of a helpful children's book.

Fixed it for you. The distance between Trump's promises and his subsequent choices as President is too large to describe any other way:

Oh well then, this is even more alarming....Trump my have "lied" about playing golf in office?.... the mean orange man is turning American politics on its head.... looks like no Christmas in America this year. Remember where you were today, the day a campaign promise(?) did not ring true.

Not "lied" in quotes. He just plain lied.
Trump did what he always does: he acts transactionally in the light of what he sees in front of him at any moment. In that rally, he wanted to attack Obama and get people to applaud. So he just went ahead and told the people that he wouldn't have time to play golf at all when he was President.
And, as Trump intended, that helped to get him elected. But now he has been elected, he probably can't even remember saying he wouldn't have time to play golf. Over and over again, he reacts to his perception of the immediate situation without consistency or principle, apart from going for what makes him feel good in that situation. Then he forgets what he said before.
A great guy to have as the commander in chief of the world's greatest military power? A guy you'd trust in an emergency, do you think?
