(Business Insider) – The FBI has obtained wiretaps from Spanish authorities of conversations involving an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin who met with Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., during the 2016 US presidential election, Yahoo News reported.
Alexander Torshin is a prominent Russian banker, politician, and gun-rights activist who is closely tied to the National Rifle Association. He has long been on the Spanish government's radar for his suspected involvement in money laundering and organized crime, and media reports earlier this year indicated that the FBI was investigating whether Torshin used the NRA as a vehicle to funnel Russian money into the election to boost Trump.
José Grinda, who has led investigations by the Spanish government into organized crime in the country, said this week that the FBI had in recent months requested and received transcripts of wiretapped conversations between Torshin and Alexander Romanov, a former Russian banker with connections to the mob who has been convicted of money laundering.

In the linked article there's an embedded link to this interesting information:
"It appears the Russians, you know, infiltrated the NRA. And there is more than one explanation for why," Simpson told lawmakers. "But I would say broadly speaking, it appears that the Russian operation was designed to infiltrate conservative organizations. And they targeted various conservative organizations, religious and otherwise, and they seem to have made a very concerted effort to get in with the NRA."
Why would they do that?
Well, Alexander Torshin, friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the deputy head of the country's central bank, is the Russian mobster official who was the handler for the Russian agent Maria Butina. He's balls deep in organized crime, money laundering (remember we've established over and over again that Trump's thing is money laundering?), and funneling millions into the NRA. That money is one aspect the FBI's Counterintelligence division's investigation into Russian kompromat.
Linking the above back to Kevin's article, the Spanish were actively surveilling Alexander Torshin in connection to a money laundering operation for Russian crime syndicates. This piece of crap told a Trump campaign adviser that he could arrange a back-channel meeting between President Trump and President Putin which he did.
Think about this for a second. A Russian banker/Duma member/Mafia leader, Alexander Torshin, is a life member of the NRA. This goes deep, too. Torshin is just one of a cabal or cadre for Putin who've completely compromised the GOP in order to further their interests, which goes beyond securing the Crimea and taking Ukranian territory. They've roped the GOP and our acting President, and his family, into a global mobocracy.
It's as if the Gambino family took control of an entire nation-state and then successfully took control over an entire US political party, got their guy elected, and are now using them to secure their geopolitcal aims. It's astonishing, venal, and disgusting at the same time. This is our President. This is the GOP now.

Good law, your post is stupid. You clearly have ptsd from the last 24 months of lawfare. The Democrats have finally convinced you that Russia is both a boogey man and nonexistent in the DNC....in spite of the reality and the deep dark vacuum of actual evidence againt Trump.
2019 is looking good.

Scandals like this could make Republicans staunch defenders of organized crime.

You know, Trump could start a new charity. He could call it the "March of Crimes Tweetathon".

in spite of the reality and the deep dark vacuum of actual evidence againt [sic] Trump.
Like the Cohen tapes and Trump's being an unindicted co-conspirator in campaign violations... and all the other evidence that Mueller has
But comments like that are what happens when the vacuum is attached to the deep dark crack of one's ass (as a blower) and the evidence never makes it to the brain...
