I’d would've thought all those Jussie fans here would be having a party. Charges were dropped and he got in front cameras claiming his “innocence after this horrible experience”!
Come on folks, time to get back at BIG BAD BACH for all those terrible things he said about “Jussie”.
Where are you on a day to celebrate!

“If the noose don’t fit - you must acquit”? Well I’m just happy to see Jussie May have finally grown some juevos when he states “Im Innocent” in front of cameras today. What a great guy!

This is your third Jussie Smollett thread, dude. I ain't sayin' you're overcompensating, but if I had to hazard a guess you have some issues to work out.

When I first heard Smollett's account, I believed him. The detail of the MAGA hat probably rang a little alarm bell in the back of my head, but when someone claims to have been attacked more often than not they have been attacked.
After hearing the evidence enumerated by Chicago PD, the cell phone records, the check, the videos, this seemed like a pretty open-and-shut case. I remember thinking that the police work seemed create a framework of facts that made it impossible for Smollett to refute.
So believe me when I say I am as shocked as you by the dropping of the charges, and I really want to hear a lot more about the decision. When there is a ton of prima facie evidence of criminal activity and the government mysteriously ignores it...damned suspicious, isn't it? You don't hear any liberals on this board boasting about his exoneration.
And I find that entirely consistent with my feeling about Barr's summation of the Mueller Report. I am highly suspicious of both, and I would like to see a lot more sunshine applied to both.

Law enforcement can be highly selective in the information it releases to the public. We often initially hear about the strengths of the case and not the weaknesses. It could be that law enforcement made some procedural mistakes that compromised the ability to successfully try the case. It could be that there is exculpatory evidence that makes law enforcement look bad. It’s hard to tell. Whatever it is, after releasing a bunch of inculpatory information to the public, I think they owe the public an explanation for the reversal of position.

I care. That's approximately $150K of Chicago taxpayers' money that Smollett wasted on his idiot hoax.
I doubt it will happen, and I doubt it's legally feasible, but I hope Rahm makes good on his threat to sue Smollett. And I hope a few heads in the state's attorney's office roll for this.
Also crossing my fingers that the Feds choose to charge Smollett for mailing his own threatening letter in the mail. Perhaps they won't be bought like the state's attorney's office obviously was.

It's pretty clear from Rahm Emanuel's angry press conferences that it's not just Republicans who are pissed.
It's a matter of civic pride.
Smollett blows in from California only to be warmly embraced by the city. And how does he pay us back?
By claiming Chicago is a Trump-worshipping, homophobic, racist backwoods.
Then when it's undeniable that he paid two Nigerians (of all people) to scam us, instead of apologizing, admitting his screw-up, and paying back the taxpayers for wasting their money, he calls in a fix with an Obama friend and smirks off while maintaining his innocence.
So yeah, we're angry. Not because he's black or gay, but because he's a garbage human being who got preferential treatment.
