We're learning all kinds of details that don't shine well on Trump, but we're talking about a man whose base didn't care about him grabbing pussies and lying about paying porn stars. So maybe none of this will matter come 2020.

"This is the end of my Presidency. I'm F--ked" is what Trump said after finding out Mueller was appointed as special counsel. Does that sound like something an innocent man would say before an investigation has even begun?

I'm afraid we're all losing sight of what this report is about. No one seems to be talking about the fact that we now know - from the same guy Trump was just bragging about as honorable - that Russia is engaging in cyber wars to undermine our democracy, and the current President is doing nothing about it. In fact, he sat there on the world stage in Helsinki and denied it was true because it was better for him politically if it weren't true. He said he didn't believe it was true simply because Putin denied it!

What does this say about his judgment and respect for US intelligence agencies? If Obama had taken the word of a ruthless dictator for any reason he'd be crucified by the same people and the same propaganda outlets that are praising Trump. But here is a quick run down.

July, 2017
Mike Pompeo, now Secretary of State, asserted there is agreement among intelligence officials that Russian meddling took place, during remarks he made while he was still CIA director in June of 2017. “I am confident that the Russians meddled in this election, as is the entire intelligence community,” Pompeo said. “This threat is real.”

January 6, 2017
A report issued by high-ranking American intelligence officialsconcluded that Russian operatives reporting to Putin interfered in the 2016 presidential election in favor of Trump. It was drafted and compiled by the CIA, the FBI and the National Security Agency. The document stated that Putin “ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the U.S. presidential election” aiming to “denigrate Secretary Clinton” and showing a “clear preference for President-elect Trump.”

February 2017
The Justice Department indicted 13 Russian operatives and three companies on charges related to waging “information warfare against the United States of America” and interfering with the election to help the Trump campaign. The department announced further charges against 12 Russian nationals on counts of hacking the Democratic National Committee, Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and state election systems. Several of those indicted worked for the G.R.U, Russia’s military intelligence agency. Rod Rosenstein said “The goal of the conspirators was to have an impact on the election."

April 27, 2018
The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released a report written by the committee’s Republicans: “In 2015, Russia began engaging in a covert influence campaign aimed at the U.S. presidential election,” it said. “The Russian government, at the direction of President Vladimir Putin, sought to sow discord in American society and undermine our faith in the democratic process.”

July 3, 2018
The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence issued a bipartisan report which asserted that the intelligence community’s findings on Russian meddling were fairly and professionally done and that more evidence had since come forward. “As the inquiry has progressed since January 2017, the Committee has seen additional examples of Russia’s attempts to sow discord, undermine democratic institutions, and interfere in U.S. elections and those of our allies,” the report noted.

The Mueller Report reveals that the Trump campaign "expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts." “The Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election in a sweeping and systematic fashion,” Mueller wrote.

So not only did Trump commit treason in Helsinki by throwing US intelligence under the bus, but he also flat out lied to the world about it because according to Mueller, Trump took it for granted that Russia interfered and he expected to benefit from it. You can't expect to benefit from something you never believed happened in the first place.

If people were more aware, what Russia did was no big deal.

Russia has been messing with our elections for years. They spent about $15,000 on Facebook ads. Hacking the DNC wasn't tampering with the election. And they are accused of hacking, not convicted. Most of us think it was Seth Rich, who was murdered afterwards.

China gave millions to Hillary and Democrats.

The real investigations will start soon.

I guess Trump has to get his support from somewhere.

The only real revelation, which was more of a confirmation of the most reasonable suspicion than anything, is that Mueller wanted Congress to decide on the issue of obstruction, given the target was the President.

Of course Trump wasn't exonerated on obstruction (we all saw him obstruct in plain sight, let alone what he managed to do without public knowledge), but it's a political decision, not a legal one. And given how screwed up our politics are, the report will ultimately do nothing. Everyone's known forever he's a crook and a fraud. This won't move Republicans one bit.

Mueller report aims to squash WikiLeaks

The Mueller report might not end the debate over what President Donald Trump did, but it has scuttled one conspiracy theory involving a murdered Democratic party staffer and WikiLeaks.

Well into 2017, Fox News host Sean Hannity championed the hunt for details about 27-year-old Seth Rich, who was shot and killed near his home in Washington, D.C., not long before the first WikiLeaks dump of Democratic emails in July 2016. Rich had been working on voter access projects for the Democratic National Committee. The police believed he was the victim of a botched robbery.

Hannity and others thought Rich had been killed because, as the conspiracy theory goes, he was the true source — not Russia — of the DNC files that WikiLeaks shared with the world to damage Hillary Clinton.

At one point, Fox News aired, and then quickly retracted, a report that said the FBI had proof that Rich was WikiLeaks’ source. (We dug into the lawsuit that Fox News drew in the wake of that broadcast. The suit was unsuccessful.)

The special counsel’s report places WikiLeaks and its founder Julian Assange at the epicenter of those rumors about Rich.

"As reports attributing the DNC and DCCC hacks to the Russian government emerged, WikiLeaks and Assange made several public statements apparently designed to obscure the source of the materials that WikiLeaks was releasing," the Mueller report says.

The report quotes from an Aug. 25, 2016, interview Assange gave to Megyn Kelly on Fox News. A couple of weeks earlier, WikiLeaks had offered a $20,000 reward for information on Rich’s killer. Without flat-out saying that Rich was the WikiLeaks source, Assange did nothing to dispel the notion on Fox News.

"We're very interested in anything that might be a threat to alleged WikiLeak sources," he told Kelly. "We're not saying that Seth Rich's death necessarily is connected to our publication. That's something that has to be established. But if there's any question about a source of WikiLeaks being threatened, then people can be assured that this organization will go after anyone who may have been involved in some kind of attempt to coerce or possibly, in this case, kill a potential source."

Assange’s fuzzy answer is consistent with another interview he gave. Assange had told CNN in July 2016 that WikiLeaks likes "to create maximum ambiguity as to who our sources are."

The special counsel report asserts without a shade of doubt that Russia hacked the Democratic servers and passed that material to WikiLeaks.

Investigators acknowledge that they can’t be totally sure how those files were transferred. The material might have been downloaded or hand-delivered.

But one thing is certain: It wasn’t Seth Rich.

You're only saying this because you can't blame Obama. Virtually all intelligence agencies are saying it actually IS a big deal. But it is better for Trump if it isn't a big deal, since, you know, he lied about it. That doesn't bother you at all obviously. You're a hack and not a serious person.
