Basically here in AL homes are either on a local sewer system or in more rural areas on a septic tank. If my home has sewer, it is the builder or homeowners responsibility to have lines to the sewer and pay a connection fee, and a monthly fee charged for sewer service. Same with septic tank, builder or homeowner responsibility and homeowner’s responsibilty to maintain their own septic tank. Is it different where you live?

Perhaps we're human in the US as well. We have successes. We have failures, sickness and health. Perhaps we even have people who make poor choices when it comes to drugs.

True it is that food and medical care are not human rights here, nor are they reserved for royalty. Based on the direction of immigrant flow, i'd say the rest of the world agrees with the law if you don't work you don't eat whether they realize they do or not. Else why come to this country with such a draconian view of human rights.

I believe the point is that the US doesn't do as well as other wealthy countries when it comes to income equality and resource sharing. There are real problems with people who work hard for very little.

They’re just following the examples set by all of the best ancient Biblical societies, where old or sick folks who couldn’t hunt or hoe a field were left to starve to death. That’s how ’community’ works.

I'm not sure people want equality of result as much as they want equality of opportunity. In fact I'd say most people in the world don't see resource sharing with people who are unwilling to work as something to aspire to. I think they also understand that it's better to tolerate a little envy for a very few rich people than have everyone equally poor as in Venezuela, Russia, Cuba, or wherever else communism has been implemented and produced these kind of results.

And there is the fact that social security siphons money from low income working age brown people to fund the retirements of white old ladies. Perhaps we should look for a more equitable system that rewards people for going to work.
