Fantasy league Democratic Ticket

A Pete Buttigieg and Marianne Williamson ticket would make for a fantastic Presidential/Vice Presidential ticket. On the Presidential ticket, it would pit a relatively young and truthful genius against a relatively stupid pathological liar.

The Vice Presidential ticket would have two religious people clash. One would be a very accomplished public speaker against a moralistic stuffed shirt who likes lobbyists. Two very different approaches to morality would be on display.

Do you have any fantasy pairings for the Democratic ticket?

Franklin Roosevelt. We need someone from Hyde Park whose Patrician bearing would drive Trump crazy. Then Trump would get to make fun Roosevelt's polio, which would pretty much ensure FDR's victory.

After he was elected, he could be the one who stood up to Wall Street. He's rich, but unlike Trump, he cared. Lucy Page Mercer Rutherfurd hardly compares to Stormy Daniels. Eleanor Roosevelt could be Secretary of Health and Human Services.

At the bottom of the ticket: Teddy Roosevelt. This is a fantasy ticket, right? So Franklin gets to have his cousin on the ticket. I just think Teddy would be an ardent conservationist, would share Franklin's glee at trust busting, and Bull Moose would let no one stand in his way in its defense. Two cousins: One in a wheelchair while the other rafts down the source of the Amazon.

I think I'd like Harris/Warren, but honestly at this stage I don't really know. You know five of the likelies: Pete Buttigieg, Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and Bernie Sanders. I don't think Biden or Bernie would take the bottom of the ticket. If any of these 5 drops out, the fight for their supporters will be intense. Right now if I had to predict either Prez or VP, I would say Harris and Warren have the best chance having a slot on the ticket.

Remember where the smart money bet for the early GOP front runner in 2016? Scott Walker. So I take everything I say with a healthy dose of skepticism.

More thoughts on the Mike Pence/Marianne Williamson Vice Presidential debate.

Pence would probably suggest that America have a full-frontal exorcism. Marianne Williamson might offer to give America a palm reading.

The way Marianne Williamson is drawing in a feedback loop of coverage and interest because her kookiness makes good television is alarming. It's the perverse media incentives that initially elevated a Donald Trump on display from the other end of the ideological spectrum.

Sanders/Warren, but the DNC campaign donors would have a fit over that one. They would force a second ballot so the wise superdelegates could choose someone other than what the people wanted.

It's way too early to say. I like a lot of them, but the pragmatist in me only cares about who has the best chance to beat Trump. Unless Democrats pull out a sweep of the White House, the Senate and the House, none of the things they're talking about doing are going to get done anyway. Might as well concentrate on getting rid of the orange asshole.

I don't see a dream ticket yet, but here goes. In no particular order.

Sanders/ Warren or Warren/Sanders
Biden/Harris or Harris/Biden

Williams (Can run the yoga/meditation studio) <-----I'm dead dog serious.

Who I want to know more about and hear more from so far:

Tulsi Gabbard
Pete Buttigieg
Beto O'Rourke
Cory Booker (?)

Not interested in the entrepreneurs. At all.

ETA: I haven't had a chance to watch the full debates yet. Working on it.

Warren/Buttigieg
or Buttigieg/Warren
or Buttigieg/Booker

on the Republican side:

Trump/Pense
Godzilla/Mothra - I would choose this combo to win because... well let's face it, Godzilla has more charisma than Trump.
