Hello my military people!

Medicare for All. In this case, without a private option. What happens to Tricare Prime and Tricare for Life? Anyone know?

I haven't seen this addressed by Democrat candidates. Have you?

Doesn't Tricare for life just pay whatever medicare doesn't pay? I know what Kevin thinks of military people. If his party gets in power, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a well funded functioning VA. I remember Mary Landrieu cutting veterans benefits and funneling the money to illegal immigrants. This is probably going to be part of the new normal.

Republicans have consistently blocked Democratic efforts to provide more funding to the VA while advocating cuts to it. If that was your top tier issue, you'd be an idiot not to vote Democrat. It'd be a strange priority to have in my opinion, but it is what it is.

It is the very height of ignorance/and or stupidity for Ajax to blame Democrats for VA's funding shortages when it is Republicans who have consistently blocked increased funding for the VA sought by Democrats. Apparently there is no scam or lie Ajax will not uncritically believe, if it comes from Trump or the Republicans. He seems to be incurably gullible when it comes to things Trump and/or GOP.

Yes, but my question has to do with whether or not Tricare might be seen as a private option and would it still exist under the MFA plans?

I didn't ask you anything about Kevin. Kevin isn't here. There's no reason to bring him into a thread when he's absent.

21 years and I can't get an on point reply to the OP from you when you can clearly see it was a call to military? Why?

This thread isn't about ajax.

Anyone have a serious reply to the OP? Could Tricare Prime/for Life be done away with under the MFA plan without private option? Would there be a rationale to discontinue it?

Am I posting in Chinese here?

Jersey Girl, it’s complicated to figure out because there are multiple MFA proposals. I found an article that says Sanders’ proposal would replace Tri-Care. I think that’s independent of the private option. Sanders would not allow private insurance that duplicates coverage under MFA. Private insurance that covers things not covered under MFA would be permitted.

Thanks! I couldn't find anything on it. The candidates need to be addressing this. Even with Biden's plan, we have no way of knowing how Tricare might be categorized.

I agree. I was curious and did a little reading about Tricare/Medicare. I didn’t realize how the programs work together for Medicare eligible vets. Looks a little complicated from the administrative side.
