Remember Paul Nehlen?

He was a challenger to Paul Ryan from the Trumpist right in Wisconsin a few years back and still gets backing from the more alt-rightish personalities in the right-wing mediaverse.

Anyway, he's apparently now on to making overt threats of mass shootings against Jews and murdering specific targets in the least veiled attempt at stochastic terrorism I've seen:

Jesus. This can't be for real.

Ajax has assured us the real threat of violence comes from the Left.

It's definitely for real. I'm still visiting /pol/ on 4chan and every day is thread after thread of all sorts of people agitating for an armed civil conflict. It's inevitable that a few of them have and will take up arms and kill people. They're very effective at their propaganda since they'll take something real, like the super representation of Jewish folks in positions of power and influence, and then mix in their anti-semitic rhetoric. The problem I see with /pol/sters is their penchant to take the worst of Jewish nutjobs and pass them off as either mainstream Jewish dogma or thought, or paint a picture that there is a persistent Jewish 5th column working to subvert whatever 'host nation' (they consider Jews parasites) Jews are controlling. For example you'll see this quite a bit:

Image

as a way to illustrate Jewish duplicity and parasitical behavior. Or whatever. Socialist. Feminist. Communist. Capitalist. It doesn't really matter. The only thing that matters is to demonstrate Jews are perpetually at odds with normal, acceptable behavior, whatever that is.

So. To the point. It's a sort of voluntary brainwashing for disempowered men who, I think, get hooked through easy imagery and just enough truthiness to make lies palatable and normal.

The whole subculture has a "just joking, but not really" vibe where the participants exist on a continuum of how serious they are. Nehlen is doing that in those messages where the reader can take as much irony from it as they wish. This isn't a new thing, though. Nazis in the 20's and 30's were like that too.

It is weird and simultaneously interesting how the Internet and social media has de-staked us from our physical space to include from our neighbors and local communities, and instead connected us to like-minded individuals throughout the world. Strangers are our social circle, and our neighbors and neighborhoods are strangers. Frankly I'm surprised we haven't seen more people acting out because it seems like everyone is the Other with anonymous people cheering on antisocial behavior. That said, sociopaths like Mr. Nehlen (who I didn't know about before this thread) would probably find a way to act out his violent fantasies regardless of the era in which he lives. I think. I dunno. I mean, how do you know who is and who isn't going to actually pull the trigger?

Well. It is interesting in the sense that this kind of thinking is gaining traction:

Choke and die faggot. Your kind will eventually be violent purged from society. You scumbags deserve to have your throats slit on sight, there is not one decent thing about you faggots. There never has been. Why you shitbag fucksacks do is an affront to decency.

I literally pray for the day, when the civil war happens. I pray that I will get the chance to personally execute you degenerate scum alongside leftist pieces of crap. I pray that your bones will bleach in the sun.

Choke and die scumbag.

That response? It was to an OP who stated that women aren’t objects.

/pol/ is only one forum among many there. What's your opinion of all the other fora?

I’ve only poked around the other forums a bit, so I don’t really have any sort of solid grasp on their culture like I’m getting to understand on /pol/. There seems to be a lot of pornography that finds it way onto some of the forums, which is off putting to me. That said, I’ve noticed a lot of the energy from /pol/ bleeds over to what you would think are innocuous forums like, for example, /sp/ (sports):

http://boards.4channel.org/sp/thread/97215871

In that thread you have the typical racism, degenerate references to indulgent masturbation, reinforcing of negative stereotypes:

and then the inevitable Jew/Black/Liberal political post:

You can correct me if I’m wrong, but there are forums that are heavily moderated. I just think there is a LOT of up front exposure to people who go to 4chan of alt-Right ideology and its influence is pervasive across the website.
