So basically everyone who speaks, damns Trump instead of exonerating him. Gee, wonder why Senate Republicans are dead set on disallowing new witnesses.

John Bolton is a bit of a wild card, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the other desired witnesses lied their asses off under oath. It'd still be nice to hear them questioned under oath, but getting the relevant documentary evidence is more important.

It has long been obvious to anyone both honest and well informed why the Republicans don't want to permit the calling of witnesses at the impeachment trial. Honest witnesses will only further strengthen the case against Trump, and defenders of Trump will almost certainly have to perjure themselves. Their overriding goal is to acquit Trump, regardless of his guilt or innocence. The more obvious the truth about Trump's misdeeds becomes, the worse they will look for having voted to acquit him. They face a dilemma. They are not sure what will ultimately hurt their reelection prospects more: convicting Trump, or acquitting him. Either choice is likely to lose them some votes.

Question for all you Trumpists. If the Republican Senators are so convinced of Trump's innocence (which I doubt they really are), why are they so desperate to disallow or limit witness testimony at the trial or release of the relevant Whitehouse documents? It seems to me that the more we know about what really happened, the better it is for Trump, if he is truly innocent.

This makes sense, right? Let's hear everything. So what is going on here? Trump wants to get into what went on in Ukraine and maybe some Republicans don't want to open that can of worms? Trump the bumbler narcissist doesn't know when to shut up and when to talk and how to act. The US was all over the Ukrainian coup back in 2014 and perhaps Biden wasn't the only one with something going on there that shouldn't see the light of day?

Exiled. What's in the article with regard to your suggestion that Biden 'has something going over there' that he doesn't want us to know? I'm not tracking your line of thought.

I think there is more to the corruption story in Ukraine that perhaps Mr. Graham and other Republican Senators don't want out there. The Obama administration orchestrated the coup over there and republicans were involved, too. Graham and McCain were front and center over there. Assuming there is something to a son of a vice president getting a cushy job in a foreign country, without any experience, perhaps that kind of thing was more wide spread than is allowed to be spoken of in polite company? Trump wants to save his neck and will say anything, expose anything to do so. That's the problem with having a loud mouth narcissist in office. So, perhaps this is why there is some pushback regarding witnesses?
