He's like an X-ray machine that shows what's inside people.

Since when did you believe in anything spiritual?

The only heart I've seen revealed by Trump is that of Mitt Romney. I'm so glad he lost the election of 2012 now that I know what is inside of him.

I'm not particularly trusting or fond of Mitt Romney either, but he has far, far more integrity than Donald J. Trump. Trump is nothing more than one of the most successful conmen in history, and by far the most openly corrupt President in U.S. history. Just consider the high percentage of his former associates and cronies with criminal convictions and/or currently indicted and on trial for serious crimes.

Trump seems more like a tare placed among the wheat for apocalyptic purposes.

You know, there is something's interesting in this question. His presidency is certainly exposing the hypocrites and shallow cultural Christians.

Well, yes, but only if the radiation from that x-ray machine is instantly spiking the poison in their hearts and minds.

I wouldn't mind letting your kind smear Romney with Obama's nasty sleazy Chicago political machine politics. He's a disgrace. It's taken too many of us far to long to see that.

Speaking of which, Donald Trump Jr. tweeted this today:

Likelihood of Nancy Pelosi praying for Trump is about the same as the likelihood of Satan running around quoting the Scriptures.

Time and time again the Trump clan reveal the don't even have a passing familiarity with Christian traditions. They're so obviously not Christians, but more than that, they have intellectually incurious / memory problem that prevents them from picking up even a basic understanding. And that doesn't stop them from trying to act natural in Christian crowds while pantsing themselves. It's good for revealing something about Christians who venerate them as Christian saviors, but looking past that, it kinda of rankles me we finally get a non-Christian president and he turns out to be a monster. Nixon was a Quaker who sometimes is argued to have been atheist, but that ain't helping things either.

I don't know if Trump is an atheist or not. He might have some bizarre spiritual beliefs that play off his narcissism for all I know. What I do know is that if Trump ever gets the historical reputation he deserves, future apologists are going to try to associate his name with atheism like they do with other villains of history. This is totally unfair. Since we're alive right now, let's be clear that he was buoyed into power by some of the most religiously active people in the country and draws his most fervent ongoing support from that same crowd. They don't think he's an atheist.

I haven't looked but I sure hope he was inundated with references to Luke 4:10-11.

How ignorant of your surrounding culture do you have to be to say this, though? You're getting into territory where it's hard to top it with fictional examples.

Evangelicals in particular freaking love Satan as smooth-talking Bible man imagery. It's not just the lack of Christianity; it's the inability to pick up on anything in their surroundings.
