Time for a quick reality check. Despite the hysteria from the political class and the media, smoking doesn't kill. In fact, 2 out of every three smokers does not die from a smoking related illness and 9 out of ten smokers do not contract lung cancer. This is not to say that smoking is good for you.... news flash: smoking is not good for you. If you are reading this article through the blue haze of cigarette smoke you should quit. The relevant question is, what is more harmful to the nation, second hand smoke or back handed big government disguised in do-gooder healthcare rhetoric.
Here’s how the Trump administration has prepared for a global outbreak:
— Get rid of the National Security Council position tasked with handling global pandemics that Obama created in 2014
— Fill key positions, like Director of National Intelligence and Department of Homeland Security secretary, with unconfirmed, “acting” officials
— Propose deep cuts to HHS and CDC budgets
— Directly contradict the warnings of experts and declare everything is fine and under control
These deliberate choices are almost sure to guarantee a public health and economic crisis. In perilous times like these, we need a president who is focused on the health and security of our nation, not his re-election chances.
Never interested in government details, President Donald Trump now wants to purge officials of dubious loyalty. Wall Street is reminding Americans a weakened executive branch carries risks.
