Joe Biden commits to having woman as vice presidenthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_ah9Q6xT3IA list of names is already online. Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Stacey Abrams, Amy Klobuchar.
So who is she? Who is your pick?
I like the hell out of Stacey Abrams but I can't supply details of her experience.

If Joe Biden is the eventual nominee, I hope his running mate is a bit more progressive than he is, whose advice and input will be seriously considered and appreciated. I'll for sure vote for him if he is the nominee, even though he is not my first choice. Anything would be better than Trump, and I trust that even a few but slowly increasing number of his still loyal base will figure that out before the election.

Typical summary of how Democrats qualify who they want to elect.

They worked doggedly to knock all the other men in the race out too. That's what primaries are for Junior.

I think it’s cynical and plays to the silliness of identity politics. Why not just tell us who it is, and why she was the best candidate for x-y-z reasons instead of starting with a vagina and narrowing it down from there? You’re literally objectifying your candidate based on her junk. And before you get your panties into a bind, what would you be thinking if a candidate straight out said, “My VP will be a man.”?
C’mon.

We know more about Amy Klobuchar and Kamala Harris since they both ran as Presidential candidates for the Democratic nomination. Either one would be a good pick.
I suppose the Democrats could try the Republican strategy of picking an ineffectual ninny for VP, but I would rather they pick someone with a vision and visibility.

As has been pointed out here, voting for Biden in November is very much a symbolic vote for whoever he picks as VP, given his age. Succession could be the way the US gets it's first female President.
I do agree that announcing he'd pick a woman is bad form, though, for a few reasons.
But if he did choose Abrams or Warren, I'd be very pleased with my vote. I'll take a smart woman over an imbecilic man every day of the week and twice on a November Tuesday.

Honestly, if you needed open heart surgery would you say, "Too many white doctors, I need a black female to perform my operation". Or would you say, "I need the best and most successful surgeon."?
