President Trump revealed to reporters on Monday he’s taking the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine in an effort to prevent getting coronavirus, saying he’s been taking a pill every day for about a week and a half.

“I’m taking it – hydroxychloroquine,” the president told reporters during a roundtable with restaurant leaders in the White House’s State Dining Room.

He added: “I think it's good. I've heard a lot good stories. And if it's not good, I'll tell you right, I'm not going to get hurt by it."

The president added that he consulted with the White House physician before starting to take the drug.

This makes me wonder if the President's mother didn't take thalidomide.

I already thought he was taking it. It's not hard to predict this guy when he's scared crapless that he could die.

ETA: If the hydroxychloroquine doesn't work out, there's always Clorox injections.

Yes, he's using it off label prophylactically. And some doc RX'd it for him.

I think I should have said more before darting off. It's not an approved use however, he's right that health care professionals are also taking it prophylactically and someone RX'd it for them as well. He also used Z-pak with it at first.

Desperate times and all that.

She ain't done apparently. It's not been proven effective at preventing or shortening Covid-19. He's winging it over there.

Hope his heart doesn't start flipping out which seems to be a main concern with this med.
