Maybe you noticed, but Trump just had his 200th fed court judge confirmed AND for the first time in 40 years there is not a single vacancy anywhere in the circuit court system.
Anyone else think that this is a really big deal? like maybe a bigger deal than renaming pancake syrup....

Career religious nuts living off the charity plate now living off our taxes dollars for life. Most of them inexperienced and selected only for their far right religious views. They're picked because the Federalist Society owns Trump and he has no principles other than scratch my back and I'll jerk you off.

Winning? Certainly not America.

The bigger deal is that this appointments involve a lot of partisan hack types as the ethic of judicial competence has dissolved within Republican party politics. It's not clear how you put that back together again.

Yet, even some of Trump appointees have shown some independence and sided against Trump on some important decisions--Gorsuch, for example, on LGBTQ civil rights. Hopefully Trump's appointees will prove to have a less disastrous effect on American jurisprudence and individual freedoms and rights than some of us fear. If Trump succeeds in being reelected, however, I am fearful that the damage he may do to our republic might take more than a generation to undo.

Notwithstanding the useless comments about the selection process, the FACT that Trump has stocked the court system to full capacity is remarkable and will directly impact policy in many nook and cranny. Even playing the non-partisan card by statistic measure does not speak to the pace of cases that can now be heard....its like having a cashier at all of the checkout lanes (pun intended).
This and the inclination that the courts will lean more conservative than liberal is a great bastion against whatever liberal agenda that might assault the ramparts of the liberty.

Its a bit like gloating over winning a race after tripping the opponent in the lane next to you and then reframing the rules mid-race like it is Calvin ball. One of the 200 is a Supreme Court Justice appointment who McConnell and Grassley effectively made possible by single handedly blocking Obama's nominee for almost a year. They then changed the rules to be able to pack the courts with minimal debate and a simple majority vote.

I suppose it gives folks like subbie a warm fuzzy. But there's one thing history teaches: damned with the Senate rules is a double edged sword that only leads to new, more sweeping changes. If I were subbie, I'd expect a House/Senate/White House sweep by Democrats to result in Supreme Court changes with either more justices and/or term limits as well as term limits approved for other federal justices. It's not great for the country. It IS how Calvin ball gets played, though.

Just pointing out that past is prologue when it comes to changing Senate rules for partisan reasons, subbie. It's almost inevitable the the party in power changes and then the losers immediately begin publicly complaining about how the new party in power is using rules they put into place against them. Only they usually leave the bit out about who changed the rules. So, we will expect your post sometime in 2021-22 complaining that Democrats have unfairly used the simple majority to push Ginsberg's replacement through followed by total hair fire over the moves they use to start whittling away at your supposed hard won conservative lean in the courts. Calvin Ball is a bitch.

Or, more likely you'll be posting about Biden and Pelosi being old and out of touch because of some comment they made while not posting about the Senate Calvin Ball because tan suits and coffee salutes are more your style.

Establishment Republicans need to bury the hatchet help the president get reelected for this reason alone. Hopefully we haven't gotten tired of winning yet.

You certainly haven't gotten tired of lying yet. You still enjoy living with your head up your ass.

Yeah, 130,000 dead and counting. Absolute incompetence. That's an idiot's version of winning. No wonder you're such a f-ucking loser.
