Attorney General William Barr has been in the news for the last several days in regard to using the Justice Department to carry out the political will of Donald Trump.

For sure! I would surprised if both he and Trump don't wind up incarcerated after the election, if Trump loses. I think they both fear that, and that that is one of their main motivations for pulling every dirty trick they can devise to prevent that from happening. Sometimes, though, I think that a mental hospital might be more suitable for Trump than prison.

There is plenty for Trump to go to jail for, but with what would Barr be charged? His behavior has absolutely no contact or familiarity with ethics, but has he done anything actually illegal?

Obviously, I'm not a lawyer, so this is a serious question. I understand he can (and should) be impeached, but that's political, not legal. Just wondering if there's anything for which he could be criminally charged.

Perjury, if nothing else. I don't think there is much reasonable doubt that he has lied under oath when facing congressional hearings. It also seems to me that he has obstructed justice by his interference in cases involving both Trump's friends and enemies. If that is not against the law, it probably should be.

Barr's visits to a couple of foreign countries to encourage them to manufacture dirt on Joe Biden sounds illegal. Overturning the decisions reached in rulings affecting Trump's henchmen sounds like potentially illegal interference. There is probably a list some of his appalled co-workers have been keeping.

Moksha, that's dishonest. My argument then and still is that you don't get justice by asserting guilt and demanding punishment without careful consideration of facts.

If you'd like I can find those threads and point out where you also took the position I presented later on and asserted I was defending Barr because your first post on the subject was so far off. Apparently you have a grudge to carry from that which is yours to carry I guess. I disagree with behaving in an extreme anti-democratic way to fight threats to democracy. Doing so loses the war, leaving ashes to fight over which is...well. I don't see it as that different from the thing you are claiming to oppose if the actions are similar just the targets are different.
