Former White House Advisor Steve Bannon Arrested in Connection to Fraud Scheme
Federal prosecutors alleged that Bannon and three others “orchestrated a scheme to defraud hundreds of thousands of donors” in connection with an online crowdfunding campaign that raised more than $25 million to build a wall along the southern border of the United States.

Multiple messages were left seeking comment from a spokeswoman for Bannon and his lawyer.

According to the indictment, Bannon promised that 100% of the donated money would be used for the project, but the defendants collectively used hundreds of thousands of dollars in a manner inconsistent with the organization’s public representations.

The indictment said they faked invoices and sham “vendor” arrangements, among other ways, to hide what was really happening.

We Build the Wall originally promoted a project for 3 miles of fence posts in South Texas that was ultimately built and largely funded by Fisher Industries, which has received about $2 billion in funding for wall contracts. Tommy Fisher, CEO, didn’t respond to calls for comment.

Trump recently criticized that section of wall after it showed signs of erosion, saying it was “only done to make me look bad,” even though it was built by his supporters.
Has any other president in history in history been had as many appointees and associates who have been indicted and convicted for serious crimes? I don't think so! Trump only picks the best people, he says! At best, Trump is an incredibly poor judge of character, but more likely he surrounds himself with corrupt and/or incompetent toadies and underlings because of his own corruption and incompetence.

Lest anyone claim that Bannon is no longer associated with Trump, and that this therefore no longer matters, consider that he
. . .has been hosting a pro-Trump podcast called “War Room” that began during the president’s impeachment proceedings and has continued during the pandemic.

I wonder how many people are actually shocked by this. Fewer than the number of people who say "par for the course".

I would place that number at about zero. A more interesting number would be how many people expected it. I expect all of his associates to be indicted at some point. Criminality is his thing.

I'd expect no less from the most corrupt administration in history.

C’mon. Clearly this is Obama’s fault.

I have a fantasy. Wanna hear it? That all of his cronies get prosecuted and sentenced to prison and he pardons every one of them. Then he loses the election, gets prosecuted and thrown in jail and he's the ONLY one left no one to pardon him.

Tell me that's not good. Go ahead.

It's not good. None of his associates deserve a pardon.

Oh come on. I'm talking about him kicking himself in his own ass.
