I grew up around a cop in SLC. He was a high up in the SLC Sheriff's office. I have a few retired cop friends and cop clients now as well. They are solid people. Even so, there are too many shootings, too many itchy trigger fingers. Like I said on another thread, demilitarization of the police should be the goal and if that is what defunding the police means, I am for it.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any good cops. The cops in Hineseville Ga, where my Dad lived while stationed at Ft. Stewart, were corrupt as all get out. Later I learned that the entire dept was ousted after it was revealed they were dealing drugs to military. When I was on my mission, I knew one member of the Church who was a cop in Santa Ana, and he was one of the most vile racists I had ever met. He had a particularly strong contempt for Asians for some reason. The cops in my town are assholes, and I know people who look foreign are treated very differently, especially at the detention center in Canton.
