It only gets worse and worse and more brazen. -Donald Trump's plan to bypass election results if he loses has leaked, and it's as authoritarian as you would imagine

I whole heartedly agree with these viewer comments, among many others:

Trump is basically setting the scene for a coup d'etat of sorts.

That's why he told his supporters to vote twice, to produce evidence of fraud. Even if it helps him

It already shows that the US system is broken. Just the fact that this could happen, proves it's broken. Get out of every other country in the world, the US no longer has the right to preach democracy to anyone

I particularly agree with the last one I quoted above. The very fact that it is even theoretically possible for sufficiently clever, unscrupulous and corrupt politicians to pull a stunt like this and get away with it, is an extremely powerful justification for a constitutional amendment to replace the Electoral College System with direct election of the President.

The republicans already have in place in various states, legal teams ready to challenge election results not to Trump's liking, with a view to replace designated electors with republican ones favorable to Trump. If there is not enough evidence of voter fraud, Trump is determined to invent it.

Do you think there is any reasonable probability that will work, or that it will remain peaceful for long? I fear its potential to turn into a bloodbath and actual, full out, shooting, civil war. Certainly Trump and his stooges would have little or no hesitation to start murdering the protesters, especially if Trump sees no other way of avoiding spending the rest of his life in prison because of the crimes he committed before running for President. I still suspect that escaping prosecution for his shady business dealings weighed heavily in his decision to run for President in the first place.

Oh god now here she goes. He is literally killing us, MeDot via his lack of response to the virus, his divisive rhetoric and his steady flow of chaotic tweet storms. I've never seen anything like this year in my entire life. One or two events? Yes. But not waves of sh-it rolling at us one after another until at this point those waves are coming minute by minute.

What's next? A bloody coup? I wouldn't be at all surprised if Stephen Miller took the mic on national live stream and announced "I am in control" ala Haig.

Regarding his interviews with Woodward. He didn't want people to panic. Yet on a daily basis he is sounding alarms while American citizens DIE and he does nothing about it and now he's not going to accept the election results as per his own words, nor is he committed to a peaceful transfer of power.
