Pence proved the thing I've been saying for the last four years: it is impossible to defend Trump without lying your ass off.

His transparent strategy was to state a strawman and knock it down. He lied over and over again about Biden's positions. It's become obvious the GOP strategy is to construct an imaginary hellscape in the minds of their base to replace the real hellscape the GOP created.

The only people who believed Pence on anything last night were people who are motivated to believe him. He's a much slicker liar than Trump, but an obvious one nonetheless, unless your mind's been captured by the cult of idiocy.

Pence is also the quintessential fu-cking prick wanting everyone to respect his piety. Primetime religious hypocrisy.

You're just bitter that Kamala performed so poorly in this debate. It was a mismatch between a polished heavyweight in Pence who presented Trump's agenda better than Trump himself could have done, and a lightweight pseudointellectual in Harris who could do little more than smirk and roll her eyes. It took her less than 10 minutes to play the gender card out of desperation.

I wish Pence would have asked her why she's running with a man she claimed to be a racist who tried to stop her from being bussed to a white school and who she thinks sexually harrasses women? But Harris admitted this was an overblown lie when asked by Stephen Colbert. "Oh that was just a debate she said." She thought debate was little more than making some nasty accusations from a bully pulpit the way she does in Congress. Pence showed us all how it's done with grace and majesty which is much easier to do when you're on the right side of the facts.

Maybe we see and hear what we want. I thought Pence performance was mediocre and it reminded me of that Robert Millet style of lying by answering an alternate question that was not asked.

Pence was not horrendous like Trump, and perhaps in the eyes of Republicans that meant Pence shined. Trump's style in a debate antagonized a lot of voters. The fact checkers suggested that both Trump and Pence were wildly dishonest.

If you want socialism so badly you really should go to Cuba or Venezuela. Then you wouldn't have to endure our horrible racism here and you could enjoy the fruits of such policies right now instead of having to wait until after this election. Why don't you? Because you know that socialism doesn't work and you probably realize that you'd get a taste of some real racial discrimination in the case of Cuba. Somehow you don't think that will happen in the US and you're wrong. It's your children and grandchildren's future that's in as much or more peril than it is mine.
