I Don't Believe You

Post by Some Schmo »

I've gotten to the point where I just don't believe people really care about whatever they are criticizing if they aren't moved by facts. In fact, I find it hard to believe the most rabid right-wing extremists are concerned about anything because they never back up their assertions, and will continue making them even after they've been debunked. I think they just like to argue because.. I don't know... they're assholes? Or maybe it's just a warped agenda. Who knows?

We have countless examples of GOP leaders doing things the right has enjoyed whining about for years, but they don't care. It's only a concern to them if it's a Democrat, and even then, I don't think they're concerned. They will whine about it because they know people who argue in good faith might think it's a concern.

A person with a legitimate concern about something will educate themselves on that thing, and apply that concern in all cases, no matter who or what. They won't wail and moan about it interminably in the face of facts that show their concern to be unfounded. They don't argue in bad faith. They don't keep making the same bad arguments over and over.

Unless, ya know, they're brain damaged in some fundamental way and can't help their inferior thought processes.

Why should we listen to and take seriously any concern from someone like this?

tl;dr: If you aren't moved by facts, I'm going to assume you don't have any to offer.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

[ X ] Warped Agenda.

There's plenty of that going on around here. Me, I've always enjoyed having my thinking challenged and I don't shy away from asking questions. Pretty sure that is evident.

Facts are tricky. One person's facts are googled and sowed from CNN, and another person's facts are not. Some kids have a handful of shooters and some kids have a handful of steelies. They both got marbles, but they got completely different stuff to work with.

This concept of rabid supporters is not unique to one side. Disappointing leadership is not unique to one side. They all have facts and they all find a way to suck. On the concept of the GOP leadership specifically, remember, they have fuckwits like Romney and McConnell over there. They have complete crap for brains leading factions of the party. These are screwed up characters who, based on their public persona and behavior, would be considered pathological by most clinical standards. They are screwed in the head. If their ears were penetrable orifices, they could not get screwed in the head more. And on the other side, we have Andrew Cuomo, Newsom and a posse of twits in the legislature.

These parties, judging by public leadership, are screwed! And that is a known and a given across the board. I consider it factual, but that does not mean others hold that as a fact.

This is why populism is getting momentum, and why Trump got momentum. It is anti-establishment that matters, not the parties. And, when twitfuck asshats carry on and call the populists rapists, murderers, inbreeds and fascists - when they are not - the needle moves. The populists get stronger in numbers and commitment. I happen to align with the populists, so seeing rants about common people that are so laced with bigotry and hate, like positions expressed by you, Gadianton and the Cabal, I see how it gets twisted into motivation. Am I always right and always perfect? I am never always right, rarely right, and imperfect.

You and the party leadership can choose to act and rant any way you want. God Bless the USA. You and the party leadership do not get to choose the reaction that your triggering rants generate. God Bless the USA, again. You act, people react. Biden/CNN/Facebook acts, people react. The Doc/Chap/Gad/Gun/SS/Alf cabal acts, people react. And I damned promise you, the dopamine from reacting to someone on a personal level, versus CNN and campaigns, is exponentially higher.

tl;dr: Your facts don't matter, if you are a rabid bigoted POS.

Agreed. I think most of the people who participate here are generally moved by facts and argue in good faith. I only have three people on ignore, and that's because they are prime examples of what I'm talking about in the OP. I (at the very least) give everyone else the benefit of the doubt.

EXACTLY!

Facts inside a silo are just that, filtered facts. This is the Twitter world.

You, Schmo, are not just uninteresting, you are also uninterested. These silos form based on the process and in the case of you and your cabal, you want a process that omits any perspective other than your own. You are doing your best to make that happen, and others are rejecting those conditions.

Do you have any object lessons so we can contextualize your OP?

Hugh Nibley claimed he bumped into Adolf Hitler, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Gertrude Stein, and the Grand Duke Vladimir Romanoff. Dishonesty is baked into Mormonism.

Seriously?

OK, well, there's the entire posting history of ajax.

Your version of what I said above goes like this: "Xanax doesn't read."

Schmo, I didn’t realize that you had the reach and impact of the QAnon movement and their conspiracy theories about pedophilia being the primary occupation of Democrats, or of vaccine microtransmitters, or Bill Gates working with Dr. Fauci to depopulate the globe, or of the evil socialist cabal trying to take away everyone’s freedoms in order to turn us into a Sharia-based nation, or the desire of Biden voters to kill babies and drink their blood, etc.

Or that you had the same reach as the ex-President and figurehead of a major political party waging an organized national campaign complete with rallies all over America, wherein he claims that the election was stolen from him and his supporters, and that the current guy in office occupies it as a result of fraud.

Are you doing t-shirts and mugs, yet?

You’d better not print up any masks. I hear that asking folks to wear a mask is as bad as everything that I listed above.

When your source is a single internet poster...... it makes sense to demonize an entire population. Makes total sense.
