Just want to say I'm thankful for the Affordable Care Act.

Insurance for my wife and I last year was about $630/month. No health background check required. It was roughly the same the year before, but this year our hospital told us they will no longer accept Anthem BCBS, so we have to switch providers. So open enrollment is Nov 15-Dec 15 and I just signed us up with another provider that has lower deductible and we'll be paying (after subsidy) about $225/month which is almost a third what we've been paying. Biden must've done something to tweak the program to bring down premiums.

Without the ACA there is no insurance provider on the planet who could cover my wife with cancer.

Where inflation isn’t
The inflation news isn’t universally bad. Several items that people used to worry a lot about in the past have been rather tame recently.

Health care, for instance, was a major preoccupation in the decade before Obamacare was enacted in 2010. But over the past year, despite a terrible health emergency, medical-care prices are up just 1.7%. Prescription drug prices are down 0.3% and health-insurance prices are down 3.8% due to increased government subsidies.

College tuition, which rose at a 6.7% annual rate in the 2000s and 3.4% in the 2010s, is up just 1.9% in the past year.
