tl;dr Taibbi showed this was a nothing-burger at Twitter if you actually read what he wrote. Everything he revealed show the government wasn't involved except maybe Trump's team was also making demands, it wasn't a in-kind contribution (and actually Twitter blocking it initially made it a bigger story, so if anything it helped Trump's side more).
