Got it in four today, not consulting the map, either. Got my average down to 8.08 as well. I'll take a good day.

May 30: I got it on my 4th guess. I’ve never consulted a map or a globe.

Eight today. Third guess served as an anchor (bordering country), followed by several unlucky guesses and one uninformed stab (a country that hasn't shared a border with the anchoring country since the 17th century -- I guess I'm a little behind in my reading.)

It seems you have a gift. I usually try to avoid using a map but once I'm stumped I figure the opportunity to learn from reviewing the map is a bonus.

Very impressive indeed! I don't start out with a map at the ready, but there have been a few countries that I absolutely would never have guessed without a cartographic crutch.

Today I got it in four because it was 0 km from my first guess. I guessed wrong twice before getting it. Brings the average below 8 at 7.79.

Wednesday, June 01: I got it on my fourth guess. Still without referencing either a map or a globe. I'm quite happy.

Accidentally got it in 3. It was blind luck -- my first two guesses were nowhere close

Nice!

I thought today's was a nice change in both general geography as well as familiarity. I took four but that seems to be a good day for me. I had been thinking it seemed most mystery countries were in a few general geographic areas and then they shook it up.
