Don't Call the MAGA Crowd Conservative!

Post by Gunnar »

Democratic Congressman STUNS during hearing with EPIC TAKEDOWN of MAGA Mar-A-Lago Talking Points
Democratic Congressman David Cicilline just went on an epic rant during a hearing where he pointed out the absurdity of Trump and MAGAs claim he declassified records vital to our national security. Meanwhile, Republicans in the hearing called for “breaking up” the FBI because Trump stole national security classified documents.
There is nothing conservative about endangering our country and the very lives of the dedicated people engaged in intelligence gathering for the benefit of our nation's safety and security by arbitrarily declassifying the vital information they risked their lives to get.

There is nothing conservative about Trump illegally appropriating official government records for himself to a relatively unsecure location, whether or not they were classified.

There is nothing conservative about fomenting a government insurrection to remain in power despite clearly having lost a election that even his closest appointed officials acknowledge was legitimate and secure.

There is nothing conservative about condemning the FBI for doing their job by searching his home under a perfectly legal warrant for illegally possessed materials.

There is nothing conservative about lying to the FBI about having previously returned all those illegal documents to where they rightfully belong.

There is nothing conservative about opposing vaccine mandates intended to help control the epidemic and minimize the loss of life.

There is nothing conservative about denying access to health insurance and universal healthcare for millions of people.

There is nothing conservative about suggesting or imposing legislation to severely restrict access to voting and permit Republican controlled state legislatures to overturn any election results they don't like.
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

And there is nothing conservative about filing frivolous lawsuits. MAGA Republicans Kari Lake and Mark Finchem are not conservatives.
The Republican candidates for Arizona governor and secretary of state on Wednesday appealed a federal judge's ruling that threw out a lawsuit they filed seeking to require the hand-counting of ballots in November's election.

Lawyers representing governor candidate Kari Lake and secretary of state hopeful Mark Finchem filed a notice saying they would ask the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to revive their lawsuit.

The GOP hasn't represented conservatism for years. It's the party representing and glorifying stupidity. The GOP base revels in ignorance and embraces idiotic ideas.

I'll never vote for a GOP candidate until they stop representing every idiotic idea this country has ever conjured, especially the absolutely insane idea that Trump is good at any job, let alone the presidency.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

La Sota said:
“We are appealing because it is absolutely critical that we have a vote counting process that gives the public complete confidence in the process,” La Sota said in a statement.
He, Mark Finchem and Kari Lake have made it abundantly clear that no matter what happens, the only way they will admit to having confidence in the vote counting process is if the results show that they won. Sone hard right conservative candidates have already demonstrated that they will refuse to concede defeat in any election, no matter how large the margin by which their opponent won.

I agree they aren't communists anymore. Right after the collapse of the USSR, Russia, under Yeltsin, showed some promise of becoming a real democracy with real freedom of the press, until Yeltsin passed the leadership off to Putin. What they have become since that promising beginning is almost as bad (if not worse, in some ways) as communism. They are at least as fascist as Putin falsely accused Ukraine of being. This is both ironic and tragic when one considers that Putin's main excuse was to save Ukraine from fascism. His real goal was to impose fascism on Ukrainians, as well as to make Ukraine a part of the Russian Federation against their will.

That's a big part of why I left the Republican party. Now it seems that the stupider and more ignorant the candidate, the more likely are Republicans to vote for them. Just look at Herschel Walker! He makes even Lauren Bobert and Marjorie Taylor Green look smart by comparison. It is mind boggling that someone that stupid currently stands a fairly good chance of beating someone as decent, intelligent and articulate as Rafael Warnock!
