Gov. deports undocumented workers from Martha's Vineyard

After declaring a “humanitarian crisis,” the outcry from Martha’s Vineyard over just 50 illegal alien arrivals has prompted Gov. Charlie Baker (R) to deport the group from the elite island off the coast of Massachusetts to a nearby military base.

This week, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) flew about 50 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard — a wealthy enclave of liberals and home to former President Obama who owns a nearly $12 million estate.

As Breitbart News estimates, the island could house about six million illegal aliens.

Democrat officials on Martha’s Vineyard immediately declared a “humanitarian crisis” even as the 50 illegal alien arrivals are a drop in the ocean compared to the nearly 6,000 border crossers and illegal aliens that American border towns are subjected to every day.

In response, Baker bused the illegal aliens off Martha’s Vineyard to Joint Base Cape Cod following Democrats’ outcry that DeSantis’ flying illegal aliens to the elite island was “evil and inhumane” even as President Joe Biden buses and flies thousands of illegal aliens every day to working and middle class communities.

Residents on the island voted up to 88 percent for Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

“… [Joint Base Cape Cod] can provide dedicated space for access to legal services and other essential services such as basic healthcare,” Baker said in a statement, noting that the illegal aliens will live in “dormitory-style spaces.”

The move comes as the Biden administration is reportedly reviewing “legal options” against Republican governors who are sending border crossers and illegal aliens to Democrat havens rather than keeping them in their states.

Baker also claimed that Martha’s Vineyard is “not equipped to provide sustainable accommodation” to illegal aliens. Wealthy residents, though, leave their summer homes on Martha’s Vineyard in the autumn and winter months — providing excess shelter space for new arrivals.

“Most of those multi-million dollar mansions are summer homes that are vacant most of the year,” Christina Pushaw, a spokeswoman for DeSantis’s re-election campaign, said. “They can be used to house thousands of illegal migrants. Time to walk the walk, Biden voters.”

The Obamas, for instance, do not live primarily at their vacation home in Martha’s Vineyard. Instead, the family spends most of their time at their primary residence in Washington, DC — an $8.1 million estate in the exclusive Kalorama neighborhood.

On Martha’s Vineyard, the Obamas’ property boasts 29 acres, a private beach, seven bedrooms, and eight and a half bathrooms. The residence alone could likely house up to 15 newly arrived illegal aliens while the acreage could house the remaining 35 illegal aliens in makeshift facilities.

With all the wealth these undocumented immigrants are bringing, why would these Democratic pillars of ethics and humanitarianism and humanitarianism, not welcome these people these people into their own homes? It's not like they don't have more money than they need. At the very least they could let the migrants stay in their homes during the winter when the liberal elite are not using them.

Democrats are all about socialism and division of property until it's their own property they have to give away.

LOL. What happened was not a deportation in any sense of the word. And it’s clear you know nothing about the Vineyard other than what Breitbart tells you.

Employment in the Vineyard is highly seasonal. I worked there one summer as a caretaker on the estate next door to Jackie O’s. The husband was from old textile and whaling families and the wife was a Forbes. The rich in Massachusetts spend summers on the Vineyard because the summers in eastern Mass. are miserable in terms of heat and humidity. The Vineyard gets winds off the cooler water, which makes summers much more pleasant. The winters, on the other hand are pretty brutal. Part of my job was fixing war and tear and damage caused by winter storms.

But after Labor Day, the island pretty much shuts down, other than the services needed by the permanent residents. All those wealthy liberals that you resent weren’t there when DeSantis pulled his stunt. Summer season was over and they’d gone home. If DeSantis were interested at all in making sure that the Venezuelans had a place to live and work to do, he couldn’t have picked a worse place to send them. (They told they were being flown to Boston and jobs were arranged.)

This was a cynical political stunt in which men, women, and children were treated as props rather than human beings. And it hasn’t escaped the attention of conservatives that he wasted taxpayer money flying people from Texas to the Vineyard for a purely political stunt.

Massachusetts authorities announced Friday that the 50 migrants would be moved from Martha’s Vineyard to a military base in Cape Cod so they can find shelter and chart next steps. The move is voluntary for the migrants, the state said.

Gov. Charlie Baker (R) said the migrants will be offered “shelter and humanitarian supports” in dormitory-style rooms at Joint Base Cape Cod in Bourne. State and local officials will also ensure migrants have food, shelter and other services. Baker said he plans to activate up to 125 members of the Massachusetts National Guard to aid in the relief effort.

Personally, I think Massachusetts should sue DeSantis for this episode of political grandstanding. It would be money well spent by his campaign to maintain these forced refugees from Texas, captured and transported by DeSantis.

Has such lawbreaking become a norm with Republicans? Do they believe they can get away with anything? Why can't they just be happy with their beer halls and goose stepping?

Sue him for what? DeSantis just exported millions in wealth and cheap immigrant labor to the moral and decent liberals of Martha's vineyard free of any shipping charges. They should be thanking him. Don't you realize how much the people of Martha's Vineyard need migrants. Are the people of these sanctuary cities not willing to share?

if Biden and Obama can dump illegal immigrants in on our doorstep to set up tent cities in our yards, why can't we do the same to them?

He falsely lured them there with promises of jobs and citizenship. He is guilty of human trafficking. Wonder if those jets were paid for by money misappropriated from the Mississippi Welfare Department?

That's what Democrats have been doing for 60 years now in exchange for votes. Biden and Obama have been bussing these migrants around the country and dumping them off in against the wishes of communities for decades now. How is that not human trafficking. Oh yes, if it weren't for double standards, liberals wouldn't have any standards at all.

DeSantis is guilty of human trafficking. His payoff for this crime was to ingratiate himself with the Trump Brown Shirts.

They need to send every last migrant to homes and communities of the people who refused to allow the border to be enforced. I still can't understand why the left would object to this other than to see the truth in the view that the left is only generous with other peoples money and property but never their own.

DeSantis is popular enough. If we can't enforce the border, this is the only thing we really can do.
