That such a large chunk of American citizens were so easily deluded into supporting him is even more astounding to me than the number of idiots who adamantly insist that the world is flat.
I can't believe how foolishly I overestimated my fellow Americans, even my own family members. I would have never imagined we would see people calling for the dictatorship of a gameshow celebrity who "shags" pornstars.

I have no doubt that Trump aspires to become an absolute, brutal dictator like Kim Jong Un, or Putin. Nor do I doubt that he really would order the assassination of any and all political opponents if he thought he could get away with it. I am greatly dismayed that the Supreme Court did not immediately rule 9 to 0 with extreme prejudice against Trump's appeal to be granted absolute immunity from indictment for any crimes he committed while President. That should have been a no-brainer!

No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Religious fanatics like Jack Posobiec who call for an end to democracy are a prime example of the need for the First Amendment's strict prohibition of any establishment of religion by the government, and also unequivocal justification for a wall of separation between church and state.

You don't have to watch this whole 7 minute-ish video unless you want to. The first 4 minutes will do it.

Tell me again who can't cut it.

Trump can barely speak, quickly ends event & leaves stage

My friend, a word of advice: Never, ever, EVER overestimate your fellow Americans. You'll just be disappointed each and every time.

My belief is that, unfortunately, while Trump may be a bad guy, he's more of a victim of delusional Americans than delusional Americans are a victim of Trump. Delusional Americans have created the mythological background for a negative messiah, Trump haplessly walked into it, and has effectively played it by ear. But even Donald Trump, in rare moments, reveals shock over how utterly insane his followers are. Liberty and wealth has offered its own unique moral hazards, and the luckiest and wealthiest generation in world history, the boomers, have essentially become bored and turned into a frightening mob of reactionary lunatics. They are, in large number, very bad people, who fortunately won't be around much longer. Pray the GOP destroys Medicare, as it may be the shortest road to ridding our society of what has become known as Trumpism.
Well put. Sadly, I agree. As a Boomer myself, I wish there weren't such large contingents of Gen Xers who act as our accomplices. I hope that we don't collectively bring the rest of the temple down around us before we ourselves are crushed under the weight of our own delusional hubris.
