Here on lower eastern seaboard, it's about 90% covered, weird dusk w daytime shadows, and hitting its peak now. Very cool.

We went out to the backyard, set out our event chairs, and put on our eclipse glasses. We watched it at various points, including its peak of coverage in our area, which reached 65%. As always it was magnificent. Originally we had planned to travel to a location where we could see the totality, but professional obligations got in the way. Sigh. We were sad to miss the totality. We saw it two eclipses ago, and it was an unforgettable experience.

Really? No, I'm a professor, but not a professor of astronomy. Nor did I take pictures of the eclipse from a planetarium.

You didn’t miss much.

93% wasn’t even noticeable without shades.

(Totally boring, if not totality)
