Yep. This is exactly right. We are a thoroughly corrupted cesspool, and we have the president to prove it.
Why are there so many Americans who can't or won't see this? If even only 10% of Americans failed to see it, it would still be mind boggling to me and tragic! Too many people seem to accept behavior and speech from Trump that they would never tolerate even coming from their closest friends and family! How could such an obviously vile and corrupt man have become so popular? Apparently he successfully appealed to the deep-seated, inherent bigotry and hatred that that still exists in far too many of us than I was willing to believe.
OK, so, democracy is a reading person's game. I don't love Al Gore's personality, but I think he predicted this one accurately. The video generation is not one to think critically. Most people have effectively handed their decisions over to video content.
Now that makes sense! It should have seemed more obvious to me. I have always loved to read about a large variety of subjects and opinions and in more than one language. Perhaps that helped immunize me from this MAGA insanity.
