The Retribution Tour has hit a small snag. From the WasJ:
Comey and James Cases Dismissed After Judge Finds Prosecutor Wasn’t Properly Appointed
Decisions deal a blow to President Trump’s efforts to prosecute his perceived political adversaries
A federal judge on Monday dismissed criminal charges against both former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, ruling that the Trump-appointed prosecutor who brought them was unlawfully serving in the role.
The decisions from Judge Cameron McGowan Currie deal a significant setback to the Justice Department, which brought charges against Comey and James within weeks of President Trump publicly calling on Attorney General Pam Bondi to prosecute several of his prominent critics.

Trump and his cronies are really not very good at doing stuff properly, are they?canpakes wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 6:17 pm.

Are you saying that Comey and James are likely guilty, but that the cronies did it wrong?

I can't speak for Chap, by my interpretation is that he's saying Comey and James are obviously innocent, and that the cronies did it all wrong. In other words, the cronies were unable to find a pathway of corruption and criminality to falsely convict Comey and James. Just like 64 failed 2020 election cases that went to the Supreme Court. You have a talent problem when it comes to lying and cheating the courts.Whiskey wrote:Are you saying that Comey and James are likely guilty, but that the cronies did it wrong?

Re: The List
That's about it! It is good to recall that many of those tossed "We wuz robbed" cases from the 2020 election were thrown out by Trump appointed judges. Terrible, isn't it, the way lawyers keep on making decisions on purely legal grounds? That is what is commonly called by some 'activism', I believe. To me, however, it seems to be what lawyers and judges are supposed to do. How naïve of me!Gadianton wrote: ↑Tue Nov 25, 2025 12:12 amI can't speak for Chap, by my interpretation is that he's saying Comey and James are obviously innocent, and that the cronies did it all wrong. No, they did convict him, one try, 34 wins vs. 64 tries with zero wins, with two direct appointees and two others his avowed servants for life.Whiskey wrote:Oh. I see. Did the people that did not convict Trump do it right?
Of course they didn't "do it right" in terms of corruption as there was no need for corruption and a staged trial, as he was clearly guilty, and there are endless other cases that could be brought that would translate into the same on purely legal grounds. The question is whether such successful and technically justifiable wins were ever advisable. Racketeering and corruption is easy to spot but tough to prosecute. The only case I would have got behind without question was his attempt to force Brad Raffensperger to lie about votes so he could win. Given your feelings about fair elections, it's surprising this never bothered you.
The problems with these other cases is it's kind of like going after Al Capone on mail fraud. While that might work for an underground criminal, for a criminal turned popular politician with the people -- we'll forgo the description of the mental acuity of these people for now -- the risk of making him look like a victim and increasing his popularity was too great.

This is one of the more remarkable things about human nature generally. Being criminally charged is usually a bad thing. Being convicted, even worse, but not to his brainless fans.Gadianton wrote: ↑Tue Nov 25, 2025 1:23 pmThe problems with these other cases is it's kind of like going after Al Capone on mail fraud. I was shocked when people started saying the assassination attempt would give him the election. How is being shot at a qualification for running the country? And yet, it seemed to sway some people.
I'm not going to forgo the description of the mental acuity of these people for now. There's no word for that kind of stupid, so I'll just call it Trump stupid, which is as stupid as it gets.
