Do you still think 2024 was America's last election?

please quote me where I said this would be our last election. Even Russia and North Korea have elections. My belief is that Trump will put more time trying to secure a permanent spot as president for himself than he will any other initiative, if not more than all other initiatives combined. I really don't think he personally cares about ANY of his promised initiatives other than those that have to do with personal power and settling grievances. He will try to figure out a way to run for a third term and secure the win in an underhanded way, as he did this time, except to whatever next level cheating is possible. We only have a glimpse into his schemes for 2024, as it turns out he probably won legitimately and so that's that.

There are a couple of reasons why at the very least, Trump and Heritage and Elon need to ensure future presidents are Republicans of their own brand. Project 2025's plan is to realize the president as the "unitary executive" (something Dick Cheney invented and originalist SC justices are partial to, funny enough); the president as sole power over the executive branch. You know, snap his fingers and put people in jail. It's probably not going to happen day 1. It probably isn't going to happen by the end of 2025. It would be incredibly stupid of Heritage to put so much effort into building Trump into a dictator only for him to fully realize his powers for the final six months of his last term, and take the horrendous risk of passing a dictatorship to Democrats for four full years, beginning day 1. They wouldn't go down this path without having an equally strong plan to shield the presidency from getting voted out.

I give it 50-50 odds that Trump would have ran this term if the documents case hadn't been brought against him. While he's president, Democrats have 4 years to uncover whatever they can to get him after he leaves office. Given Trump has spent his entire adult life as a white collar criminal, it shouldn't be too hard to dig up something. Therefore, Trump has the choice of trying to stay president until the day he dies, or spend the rest of his life post-presidency in court if not jail. Trump is probably not Heritage's number 1 pick -- he's a damned idiot, and they know that. He's just the guy who can get the votes (from stupid people; we have tens of millions of them). Vance or someone else would be much better. Trump needs to stay relevant once votes are no longer needed. He's not going to go along with anything unless he remains the only game in town.

Now, hopefully the above is the must unhinged and looney thing I've written all year, and all of you will be laughing in my face in 2028 because Trump retires and there is every reason to believe we go into 2028 as fair as we went into 2024, independent of who wins from there. I will happily endure the laughter.

Gad this was the song of the left and mainstream media for years. If you didn't say it can you honestly tell me you disagreed with them at the time?

You have Gad confused with a certain billionaire. : D

“Get everyone you know, and everyone you don't know, drag them to register to vote. If they don't, this will be the last election. That's my prediction.”

At this time we can only guess what terrible things are planned in the dismantling of the United States. It is not like we are trained to expect the Spanish Inquisition.

I take it you quoted my response without reading it. I agree with them more than ever that Trump will TRY to make this the last election, and he will put more effort into that than any other initiative. If he gets his way, 2028 will resemble elections in Moscow. If that isn't a good enough answer, then you will need to quote what someone from "the left" specifically said, not just your summary of what you recall them collectively saying. So far, the only person we have on record saying exactly what you said is Elon Musk. Canpakes isn't the only person allowed on this forum to provide quotes if you think there's something out there to support your position.
