What will things be like?

Post by Moksha »

What will things be like once Trump and his administration have made significant changes, such as dismantling the United States government and ending the social safety net?

When Grandpa and Grandma are thrown to the wolves, how will America react? Will they view these new hardships as a bearable cross for being on the wrong end of a class struggle: Billionaires vs the geezers?

America will rise up and contend that if only communism were led by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rather than Fidel Castro it would prove to be the most successful economic system the world has ever known, rivaled only by Bidenomics. Then they'd run to her and cast the deeds to their homes, cars, and sign over their paychecks to the great, wise, and honorable redistributor, while vowing to work longer and harder than ever to bring this great welfare utopia beyond what Stalin or Maduro had ever dreamed.

Get real Moksha. Trump will never cut social security. Even Trump can't save us from the damage done by the scamdemic. You don't get to just repent choose a new president and then all is forgiven. The American people still have to pay the price of their poor decisions in 2012 and 2020.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Trump has lied about everything else so why should this be different, eh?

It feels like Elon Musk will deliver the coup de grâce in class warfare if it benefits the billionaires.

No it's to the benefit of anyone who works for a living rather than pulling a government check each month.

What will it be like? This is what Milei campaigned upon before becoming the first true conservative president to respect private property in over 100 years in Argentina,

I don’t foresee Trump letting Social Security get diced.

There are two things he cares about. His ability to profit off his position as President and rob tax payers, and his need to be loved by his base. Killing social security does nothing to advance the former, and would jeopardize the latter. He also won't do too much with things like SNAP. His base is filled with welfare queens, and there's no way for him to Constitutionally make the social programs only cut brown people from their rolls.

He'll just do what he did last time, and go insane with inflationary money printing to fund his smash and grab before cutting welfare spending. DOGE is only there to dismantle government entities that inhibit the profiteering of the donor class and our new oligarchy. There's only so much cheap labor and poverty that Trump and his ilk can outsource oversees. Their 0.1%-centric business models necessitate Uncle Sam subsidizing them through feeding their workers.

That only proves to me that Javier Milei is even more insane than Trump!

It might be unpleasant to think about, but what if all the social programs were slashed? At least Utah would not have to fret about saying no to warming centers to keep people from freezing in the winter.

Can you name anyone in the Trump administration who seems like a decent caring human being? What about Tulsi Gabbard? Doesn't she have some pro-Soviet ideas?

It doesn't seem like it! They (particularly Musk, it seems) do not even try to hide that they regard massive tax reductions for the very wealthy are more important to them than relieving the economic distress of the poorest of their fellow Americans and making adequate healthcare and housing affordable for them. They unabashedly admit that they favor further harming the most economically disadvantaged of us if that's what it takes to make the massive tax cuts for the rich possible and affordable.

Elon Musk assures voters that Trump’s victory would deliver “temporary hardship”
On his social media platform, X (a.k.a. Twitter), an anonymous user posted Tuesday that, “If Trump succeeds in forcing through mass deportations, combined with Elon hacking away at the government, firing people and reducing the deficit - there will be an initial severe overreaction in the economy…Market will tumble. But when the storm passes and everyone realizes we are on sounder footing, there will be a rapid recovery to a healthier, sustainable economy.”

Musk replied, “Sounds about right.”

This is one of the more truthful arguments that Musk has made for Trump’s election, which is to say, only half of it is false. If Trump delivers on his stated plans, Americans will indeed suffer material hardship. But such deprivation would neither be necessary for — nor conducive to — achieving a healthier or more sustainable economy.
