Trump Enacts Key Component of Project 2025

On the first day of President Trump’s second term, he reissued a version of Schedule F, an executive order that makes it easier to fire and replace federal employees, Marc Elias and Paige Moskowitz discuss the goal of the order, its connection to Project 2025 and the lawsuit filed against it.

Trump unapologetically wants to replace virtually all career civil servants whose expertise is essential to the smooth, honest running of the government with people whose sole qualification is unquestioning loyalty to himself. Do any of you conservatives who voted for him fail to see how dangerous and disastrous this will inevitably prove to be?

Not only that, but he also just fired virtually all the Inspectors General in government without giving Congress the 30 day notice required by law.
The Whitehouse late Friday fired the inspectors general of at least 12 major government agencies in a purge that could clear the way for President Donald Trump to install loyalists in the crucial role of identifying fraud, waste and abuse in the government.

The inspectors general were notified by emails from the White House personnel director that they had been terminated immediately, according to people familiar with the situation, who like others in this report spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the private messages. The dismissal appeared to violate federal law, which requires Congress to receive 30 days' notice of any intent to fire the inspectors general.
Many of these inspectors general were appointed by Trump himself during his last term as President!

Why would Trump do that unless he fully intended to get away with fraud, waste and abuse to benefit and enrich himself and his cronies? Does anyone think that the phony Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) headed by DeFacto President Musk will actually be permitted to purge Trump's administration of any actual fraud, waste and abuse that benefits Trump? How can anyone be stupid enough to not see that this portends eventual, willful and unmitigated corruption and injustice on the part of this administration? Don't forget that he is a convicted felon!

If the Republicans in congress had any integrity or spine left, they would unanimously join the Democrats in moving to impeach him!

The Steve Bannon doctrine is that the American government must be destroyed for a new fascist order to arise out of the ashes. Trump supports that doctrine and will take the steps necessary to make that happen.

Yup! That is certainly consistent with his dismissal of any and all IGs that are not absolutely and unconditionally loyal to him, and him alone.

Trump's first staff tried to talk him out of rash and imbecilic ideas. They also bristled at his constant temper tantrums.

Now, when Trump throws his food against the White House walls, they will fetch him more condiments and compliment his throwing arm abilities.

 I can picture that happening!

Will the career civil servants get their pensions? Has that been disclosed?

The latest memo unconstitutionally impounding federal grants is going to end up in financial chaos, and massive layoffs.

And authors of Project 2025 openly and unashamedly advocate increasing tax rates on the middle class and the poor in order to enable trillions of dollars of tax cuts for billionaires! In fact, they advocate any policies that cut funding and assistance for everyone other than the ultra-wealthy! And they claim to be devout Christians while doing it! Can they really not see how utterly antithetical this is to the teachings of Jesus Christ, whom they claim to worship? Are rank and file working Americans really so stupid and gullible as to not see how they are being viciously being taken unfair advantage by these incredibly avaricious and purely self-serving monsters?

They have totally rejected the ideal of our first Republican President's ideal and prayer that ". . . government of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from the earth" and replaced it with the horrible principle of government of the ultra-rich, by the ultra-rich and for the ultra-rich, and to hell with anyone else!

We have often heard hard right conservatives' opposition to the idea of government sanctioned "redistribution of wealth", but they are not really opposed to that, in principle. They are only opposed to reversing the current direction of the massive redistribution of wealth from the less wealthy and impoverished to ultra-rich billionaires, who already have far, far more than they need or deserve!

I hate to break the news to you, but this is nothing new. It has been the case for as long as lobbyists have been a thing.

I can't help but admit that this is almost certainly and sadly true. :(
