It's Not about Policy - It's about Character and Morality

One thing I've noticed from the MAGAtes; they seem to think the disagreement about Trump is over political policy. They can't seem to grasp that it isn't about politics. A Trump voter exposes their character deficiency by supporting Trump.
If you voted for Trump, you are either malicious or grossly incompetent. That's why normal people want little or nothing to do with Trump voters: Trump fans are more defective than normal. They are incompetent decision makers. They pose a safety risk because they make ill-advised choices. I don't trust Trump voters. I don't believe they are honest people. If they're honest, they're complete assholes to actually desire what's currently happening to this country.
And/or they aren't paying attention. Or worse, they think they know what's going on, but really they're clueless morons swallowing all the BS available to confirm their idiot bias.
Republicans, according to recent polling, are more willing to date a Democrat than visa versa. That makes complete sense to me. Republicans don't understand how stupid and off-putting their Trump support is. They're so stupid, they not only voted for Trump, they also don't understand why that was damned dumb.
If you voted for Trump, there is something fundamentally wrong with you, and it is no surprise sane people want nothing to do with you. You're probably suffering, and I imagine you deserve it.

My only real disagreement is with your last observation, that any who rose to MAGA level are suffering. No, they aren't. They have big cheesy grins on their face and think they've won no matter what. I'd bet bet very few of those folks whose spouses are literally handcuffed by ICE in front of them feel betrayed. People who self-reflect suffer, people who raise their hands to the Lord and just believe erase away all that uncertainty and move forward knowing who they are and what's right is right. It's not fake it until you make it, it's fake it and keep on faking no matter what.
Those snagged by right-wing radio in the 90s cannot be any other way than they are. Fortunately, basic low information and incompetence explains enough of the problem that there is still hope enough punishment from the true believers will swing the pendulum back in the direction that got Joe Biden the largest number of votes in history.

I'm sure there are a few people like this who are closer to the administration, but your average blue collar Trump voter? I don't think they'd have voted for Trump if they were content humans.

It should be pointed out that voting for ****face is one thing; continuing to defend it at this point in its term... disgusting and inexcusable.

Incredible!!! Take a look at this opening post in the thread that clearly highlights the ignorance of the individual who initiated it!
Am I the only one who can sense the hatred residing in Bishop Schmo's heart? The fundamental inquiry is, how many individuals present truly concur with Bishop Schmo? Canpakes might, Gadianton likely does, and perhaps Molok as well. The real question is, now that the election has concluded with Trump as the victor, and the Republicans hold power in the House, Senate, and Supreme Court, does the animosity that Bishop Schmo and his progressive allies harbor towards MAGA aid or hinder their progressive agenda?
Could someone clarify the real significance of his initial post? Is he merely venting, expressing his thoughts, or does this opening post genuinely reflect his perspective on the world?
What has MAGA done to provoke Bishop Schmo to express such intense anger on the board?
What do the words he uses in this thread express about his character and morality?

There was once a real government organization somewhere which had as its official motto, "My honor means loyalty." It was an explicit declaration that this organization would violate any other moral standard in the name of being loyal to its leader.
You don't have to know which organization this was to realize that this is a terrible principle to uphold in practice, whether or not it is explicitly stated as it was in that case. Even a hint that things might perhaps be slipping a bit in that direction is like feeling a little lump under your skin. You don't just smile and say of course it's not cancer.

It was once wisely observed that unfortunately intolerance for intolerance is, though seemingly hypocritical,
absolutely necessary. That is because the intolerant use the tolerance of the tolerant against them to gain the space they need to eliminate tolerance. The intolerant must not be tolerated if tolerance is to survive. Similarly, a group of people motivated by hate cannot be tolerated. MAGA, being motivated by hate, must be excluded to keep it from using the tolerance of others to destroy tolerance. Gavin Newsom's people seem to have finally caught on, while the majority of the American media is suckling the viper at its bosom.

I concur. There may be MAGA folk out there suffering, but those that are often don't correctly identify Trump as the source of the suffering. Those who do sometimes become fatalistic about the need for sacrifice to MAGA, although they regret their personal suffering. Many of the wealthy MAGA people, those in the top 5% of wealth in the US (to broaden things out a bit) are smiling wide and think this is all just dandy.

I agree. That is another way of saying that to the bigoted, the greater and more pernicious bigotry is adamant objection to their own bigotry itself.

Yup.
