Can there be any remaining reasonable doubt that Trump is doing his darndest to entrench himself as an absolute tyrant who cannot be successfully removed from power, no matter by how great a majority he and his minions are voted out of office? Is there any doubt that by the 2028 election all DC police officers who would have resisted a coup like the Jan 6 2020 attempted insurrection will have been replaced by Trump loyalists who will do nothing to resist a similar insurrectional coup to overturn any 2028 election that does not result in a Republican victory?

I'm seriously afraid that Trump will refuse to leave power in 2028, no matter what the election results, and back that up by any armed force he deems necessary!

I said this in another recent post. He's GASLIGHTING his base so he can declare martial law in DC and then he'll go on to other cities. It's part of his revenge campaign. He's spiting groups and will spite political opponents (Obama) for various reasons. He's trying to ameliorate the effects of narcissistic injury.

Recall when Obama joked about him back at the whatever it was the press core dinner? He's NEVER recovered from that. That's how far he'll reach back to avenge himself. His hatred for Obama and others has only compounded since the first cut to his fragile ego.

Example, if he could string up Kinzinger and Liz Cheney as well as other members of the Jan 6th committee that wrecked HIS hoax he'd freaking do it.

The tactics he's using are NPD 101. You guys really need to revisit the psychology behind all of this I think. He'll do ANYTHING to retaliate and recover the injury. Anything!

Okay but I didn't hear an official declaration of martial law. I may have missed it or he simply doesn't care what's official. Even so he's screwed it up because it just proves he could've called out the Nat'l Guard on Jan 6th instead of sitting on his narc butt watching the insurrection on tv (getting his supply from the violence on his behalf) and passing the buck around, blaming the lack of response on Pelosi when it was HIS call to make.

The man can't keep up with his own failings and contradictory behavior and apparently his base can't either. He churns out stuff at such a rapid pace it's hard to keep up with it. I can keep up with at least some of it.

Yes, but Trump will only double down on the lie that the DC crime rate is at an all time high to justify taking over governmental control of DC. After his takeover, he will report the actually low crime rate and claim that it suddenly decreased to that low rate solely because he took over.

In the mean time between now and the midterm election in 2026 and next general election in 2028 he is going to double down on priming his MAGA base to be prepared to accept that if the Democrats win, it could only have been due to the Democrats having unlawfully rigged the election, like he claims it was rigged in the 2020 election, and therefore feel justified in taking up arms to violently overturn the election. The attempt to order Republican Governors and legislatures to redraw voting districts to maximize the number of Republican representatives in Congress is basically incidental to his overall plan to retain power because even if this redistricting fails to result in the electoral majority in his favor that he wants, he will merely claim that as conclusive proof that the elections were indeed unlawfully rigged, which will probably further incline his sycophantic base towards violent insurrection.
