Dodgers sweep the Breweres - Heading back to the WS!

Ohtani pitches 6 innings - 2 hit with no runs - 10 k's.

At the plate - Ohtani goes 3 for 3 with 3 crushing bombs!

Every now and then, you might see this type of performance at the high school level, but to see it at the MLB level is INSANE!
Almost, Ohtani had four plate appearances, 1 walk, three home runs. It didn't seem like an intentional walk either, as either of the last two called balls could arguably have been called strikes.

But yes, 3 at-bats, three home runs!!!!

He started deceptively quietly, walking the first batter in the first inning, then he must have decided to get down to business. He struck out the next three, then hustled off the plate to bat first for LA---and hit his first home run!!

His second home run went over the back wall, hit the top roof and apparently, actually LEFT THE STADIUM. They called it at 469 ft. It was unreal!!!

When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth: Ohtani is a god.

Or an alien!! I heard that several times from the announcers last night. : D

Have you seen the xfiles episode, "the unnatural"? It's a sci fi setting, yes, but it's a very touching ode to the beauty and the draw of the game. One hilariously touching scene has a AAA league pitcher taking out sajuaros in the vast arizona desert instead of pitching over the plate. After a while, even the opposing team starts encouraging him. Friendship, with aliens or otherwise, is a key message of the episode.

Oh my goodness, yes. It has been a couple of decades, but If I recall correctly it was an excellent episode.

Oh well. The Mariners being eliminated from a spot in the World Series is nothing new, but this year it happened about six weeks later than usual. :)

The Mariners had a really solid season. Before the playoffs, I was a Raleigh fan. Now, after watching that team play in a few playoff series, I am also a Naylor fan and a Rodriguez fan. They have some star power.

(Wilson made a few questionable managerial decisions during the playoffs - For example: taking out Woo was, at best, fairly questionable in my opinion. Wondering what, if anything, is being talked about in the local Seattle area about Wilson)

And there was absolutely no "lollygagging" in last night's game!! : D

Naylor leaping into the air on his way to second and sacrificing his head in an attempt to stop a double play was... memorable. I was following ESPN's stats while watching the game, they rewrote what happened at least 4 times, before finally settling on "Polanco grounded into double play to third, Polanco out at first on runner's interference by Naylor." Reading the Toronto pitcher's lips got to the point much faster. With thanks to reddit lipreaders, it was : "WHAT THE F--- ARE YOU DOING?!!!!"

I thought Springer would get the mvp after his 3run homer late in the game, but Guerrero Jr. got it. I looked up his postseason stats, they are pretty amazing, so I can see the choice.
