Brewer's yellow growing on me...sort of. Still not my favorite.

Snell has pitched a full 8 innings, 103 pitches, only one hit. Nicely done.

It is much more enjoyable (and slightly less stressful) to watch MLB playoff games when your team has been eliminated.

Well, you MUST watch it. Start at about the 5:30 mark (bases loaded, one out)

Wow! That's one of the damnedest things I've ever seen. Thanks for the link!
Don't tell you wife that you watched it - Our secret. :)
Well, now I just feel dirty.
Never seen anything like it. 👍

So, how did luck influence the game about which you were speaking?
Oof. Where to start. Both teams played very well and rather evenly (e.g. both teams had exactly 8 hits), but there are 'luck' factors that play a part of almost every baseball game. For example, hitters have limited control over where the ball will go when they make contact. A sharply hit ball can be a line-out if hit directly at a defensive player but be good for a bases-clearing double if the angle of departure from the bat differed ever so slightly. Making good contact is a matter of skill; exactly where the ball goes includes an element of luck.
Hmm, I hadn't considered that.
In fact, there are statistics (I will mention a couple below) that track a player's luck when it comes to batted balls.
Interesting; I didn't know that. (NOT sarcasm.)
Another 'luck' factor is that hitters have no control over whether any of their teammates are on base when they successfully score a hit. There were several times during the 15-inning marathon that a hit that had been made in one inning and scored nobody (no baserunners) would have won the game if made in another inning when teammates were on base.
Oh, okay. That's something else I hadn't considered.

Thanks for typing this up for me.

It was my pleasure. Thanks for giving me an excuse to prattle on about baseball.

A very interesting game 4 tonight (Jays and M's) - After game 3, I think we might have a series again.

Brewers need to win tonight to avoid going down 3-0 to the Dodgers.

In the five games so far (NLCS/ALCS), the road team has won all five. Weird.

Did I mention that crazy double play? Unreal!

Batter Up!

As the announcers mentioned, it's weird that they threw him that fastball in the 8th. Maybe they intended it to be off the plate?

(It was a slightly unusual homerun for Suarez: of his 49 regular season HRs, only 7 were to right field.)
Heading back to Toronto up 3-2.

Dodgers sweep the Breweres - Heading back to the WS!

Ohtani pitches 6 innings - 2 hit with no runs - 10 k's.

At the plate - Ohtani goes 3 for 3 with 3 crushing bombs!

Every now and then, you might see this type of performance at the high school level, but to see it at the MLB level is INSANE!
