Since the board sees so little input from anyone on why they would have voted for Trump, I could use Hound’s comments here as a starting point to gather reasons.

Topping the list so far, at Number 1:

In 2016 did you vote for the adjudicated sexual predator's wife or the guy that wasn't an adjudicated sexual predator?

Clinton had a jury trial for one of his sexual assaults? I was young, so I know I missed a lot (spending most of my time tooling about in bars, playing music). Was he found guilty like Trump, or were his lawyers able to get him off?

Yes, I held my nose and voted against Trump in 2016. As far as I know, she wasn't actively involved in any of his sexual harassment, sexual assault, or affairs. She's still an ethical blackhole though. There's a pretty wide divide between utilizing a vote to vote against someone, and supporting that person you’re utilizing as a tool to vote against someone. At least in my world. Voting for Trump in 2016 (or even in 2024), and continuing to support him are pretty different things in my world also. Voting for him in 2024 was definitely an exercise in making the Ven Diagram of incompetence and cruelty into a singular circle, but still I think there's a difference between the people who spent a moment in a voting booth and never given him any additional bandwidth, and people who continue to actively support him.

That said, if you want to search my posts to see if I have ever supported Hillary Clinton, or Bill Clinton, I know that I've referred to her as an ethical blackhole multiple times (which should make it easier to search to board), and the last DNC gathering I made a post here wherein I said how disgusting and disappointing (but also on brand) it was that they platformed Bill. That associating with the Clintons isn't a scarlet letter within the DNC boggles my mind. Hopefully enough crap will be released from the Epstein files for at least him to become part of the political Harijans.

Regarding Trump's adjudication (or lack thereof in 2016). We already had him self-admitting to being a sexual predator, bragging about walking in on children getting dressed, and sexualizing his own infant daughter on national TV (not to mention the scores of allegations, some of which were long before he even entered the political sphere). So, the jury trial finding him liable was almost just a formality.

I started a thread listing the reasons people voted for Trump. I can't find it though to save my life. The search function on this board, well... leaves much to be desired.

The one I do remember though is that they voted for him because his emotional immaturity resonates with them. They like the spastic idiocy from Trump in reaction to crap they don't like. It's pretty obvious from the screw-ups on this board who voted for him, anyway.

No, that's not the one, although that was interesting to read. I totally forgot about that.

It was a more recent thread called something like "The Real Reasons People Voted for Trump" but I don't remember the exact title and the search function tells me the words I'm searching for are too common.
