I fully understand that the house does not have the authority to remove a president, but they can vote for an impeachment trial which then becomes the obligation of the Senate to conduct. The real difficulty is, of course, getting 2/3 of the Senate to vote guilty. The majority of the Senate did in fact vote guilty (57 to 43 including 7 Republicans), in the second impeachment of Trump, which was just 10 short of the required 2/3. It may be improbable that enough Senate seats would flip to Democrat in the '26 midterm elections, but it may not be entirely inconceivable that, given Trump's rapidly declining poll ratings, enough Senate seats could be flipped, combined with enough additional Republicans becoming sufficiently disgusted with Trump to result in the necessary 2/3 of Senators voting for conviction. I don't deny the unlikelihood of that, but I can't help hoping for that outcome, nevertheless. I don't think it is at all unlikely that a majority of the house will be Republican after, or even before the '26 midterms, and will once again vote for impeachment.
One scary thought is that if Trump, and only Trump, is successfully impeached and convicted, J.D. Vance would become President. I don't think he would be a much better, if any, choice than Trump. Perhaps even worse would be if Trump and Vance are both successfully impeached while Mike Johson is still Speaker, making him the new President! I think he is a dangerously ignorant religious fanatic who is both anti-democracy and anti-science!
Again. Johnson would be the least of your concerns if this level of vengeful prosecution was successful.

Gunner, in between the various reasonable posts in this thread you may run across the occasional post from the MAGA-minded cult that are trying to convince you that holding a person accountable will make that person more appealing to idiots and morally weak individuals. Therefore, look away and don’t talk about it.

It’s an interesting contradiction and a bit of a self-own from those folks, but what else can be expected from them? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Gunnar, you will not actually find that here. What you will find, however, is trolling from the moderator. Jut ignore it.

I don’t think that your reverse psychology attempt here will work on Huck, either.
Huck, do you have permission to speak for yourself?
I do not remember the particular speech tearing up event. Trump is such an endless fountain of garbage one forgets.

I do remember at that time Fox had an ongoing hate Pelosi theme. They would repeatedly show a black and white unflattering photo of her and perform a sort hate on her ritual. I got bored.

We share more than you may know. That stuff is painfully boring. It takes little to no thought.

The speech tear, while applauded by the left, was ridiculous. Look it up.

I agree. Even if one is not a Trump fan, her conduct was unbecoming of her office.

Her rationale given after that evening was that she did so in response to Trump ‘shredding the truth’.

It was unnecessary, but we’ve come a long way since then and are so much farther beyond that on the path of unbecoming. In light of what has happened since, it’s interesting that this paper tear is the thing that still evokes a reaction from some folks over a half-decade later.

A crappy explanation and rationalization.

It is not "the thing" that still evokes a reaction. It is not the thing and it gets no reaction currently. It was not described as such. Your hallucinations and imagination prevent you from participating intelligently, again. However, you are a solid example of the point being made which is that the obsession by dumbfucks, especially people as damned retarded as you with your imaginary facts and details, do more to promote Trump than educate or persuade anyone to choose something you insane and crazy obsessed leftist lunatic fringe would recommend.

That response seems a bit obsessive about the person as opposed to addressing the topic.
