Merry Christmas happy holidays to all and thanks for everyone else's greetings. This is my favorite time of year. I have long ago found that gift exchanges are not nearly as important to me as they used to be. The real joys are camaraderie with friends and family and enjoying and participating in the music and festivities of the season. After my 8 decades of life, one of the least things I want is more stuff in the form of Christmas gifts to add to the overabundance of things we already own that and for we have to find room to store. Giving gifts to children and grandchildren that enhance their joy and happiness gives me much more satisfaction than receiving gifts from others. My favorite Christmas gifts are seasonal food items and treats which I enjoy and are eventually consumed rather than adding to the possessions we already have and for which for which we have to find room to store.
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.
Merry Christmas to all! I am enjoying a quiet Chiristmas at home with my family. We just spoke with my spouse’s parents in the phone. The kids are having fun with their Santa haul. On Christmas Eve we watched It’s A Wonderful Life. The kids had somehow got away without seeing it in childhood. We filled that gap!
