GOP’s Ken Paxton Voting Scandal

Hi, MAGA board members. Do you still care about voter fraud?

Texas AG Ken Paxton spent years making election fraud one of his signature issues, yet Texas Tribune investigators found he probably voted in 6 elections using an address where he no longer lived after moving to another county.

According to them, the evidence includes real estate records, court filings, and other documentation establishing his residence elsewhere. Paxton denies any wrongdoing, of course, because he’s a piece of crap, and calls the news article politically motivated.

Will he be charged with a crime? Will election laws to apply to him, as well? The standard shouldn’t apply to only the disenfranchised, no?

Whattya say, MAGA board members? Should Ken Paxton be held to account?

The difference in our two parties could not be more stark. Graham Platner is accused of rape and is instantly pressured by his party to step aside, and he does so.

Paxton has an entire reputation for sleaze, but does that phase the GOP? Maybe 40 years ago, but not today. For today's GOP, the bigger the criminal, the better.

I still consider myself an independent, but the GOP makes it impossible for me to vote for anyone in their obviously corrupt, obscene party. One can tell themselves their vote for the GOP is just about policy, but to do so, one must be comfortable with lying to themselves on a massive level. That makes one an asshole.

I agree with you about today's GOP. It is increasingly apparent that the bigger the criminal and more outrageously and even openly corrupt the candidate, the more strongly they will support and endorse him or her. It seems to be all about increasing the wealth of wealthiest few without limit to the detriment, expense, and pain of almost everyone else, especially the poorest and least powerful. They can't seem to grasp the idea that this unrelentingly selfishness greed will inevitably bite them in the end, when nearly everyone else is so impoverished and powerless that nothing more can be extracted or stolen from them.

JD Vance’s claims about imaginary voter election fraud fall apart under scrutiny
To the extent that Democrats and Republicans have debates about alleged voter fraud, they tend to be exceedingly tiresome and unproductive. Republicans say, “Voter fraud is a serious national problem,” at which point Democrats respond, “There is literally no evidence of that.”

Republicans then effectively conclude, “We’re going to keep saying this anyway, in the hopes of undermining public confidence in the nation’s electoral system, which we’ll use to justify voting restrictions that will help GOP candidates win elections.”

This week, however, JD Vance headlined an event in Wisconsin, where the vice president appeared to offer his opponents a potential deal of sorts.

“If Democrats want us to stop talking about election fraud, I’ll make them a simple deal,” the Ohio Republican said. “Pass the SAVE America Act and get voter ID, and we’ll stop talking about election fraud.”

Except, that’s obviously not how deals work. Vance’s pitch boils down to an absurd proposition: Republicans won’t feel the need to deceive the public with claims that can be used to justify voter suppression tactics if Democrats simply embrace voter suppression tactics.
[emphasis added]

In other words, J.D. Vance has admitted that he doesn't care whether or not there is actual election fraud or any evidence of it. He is going to repeat the claim that there is as often as it takes to for that to unfairly influence elections in GOP candidates' favor.

And that's because he knows GOP voters are gullible rubes who rarely think for themselves.

They don’t care about voter fraud. They care about the wrong people (Democrats) voting.

I don't think they really know what to care about. Their opinion changes whenever Trump breaks wind. Their only personal conviction seems to be "whatever Trump says."

It's hard to imagine being so intellectually useless that you look up to an obvious idiot in the orange turd. Remarkable.

I hear you! It is incomprehensible to me how such an incredibly ignorant, incompetent, narcissistic, selfish, pathologically dishonest, avaricious, corrupt, misanthropic, racially bigoted, convicted felon, confirmed sex offender and who is evidently increasingly affected by Alzheimer's disease or some other kind of dementia, still has such a strong hold on such a large proportion of both prominent and rank and file Republicans. I cannot avoid concluding that those who blindly still support most everything he does are arguably either abject cowards, abysmally ignorant, or just as corrupt and immoral as Trump, himself!
