Today I was thinking about listening to the Rolling Stones in 1965. I bought the first 45 of Satisfaction sold in Menlo Park, California. (I happened to be in the store when the shipment arrived.) In 56 years I'd be listening to Mick Jagger sing to the world from his house, telling the story of year's worth of a Global Pandemic. The song would be instantly transmitted and watched by a billion people on computers that sat on your desk or a telephone with a television screen that fit in your pocket. I would listen to the song on my own computer, while watching a video of the first helicopter to fly on Mars.

How did we get from there to here? To quote another band, what a long, strange trip it's been.
And in spite of our advances, we still can't get along with the guy next to us and live in peace. We've just gotten more efficient at killing each other.
12X5 is probably my favorite album by the Stones. I've still got it on the original vinyl I bought when it came out. Dragged it around with me for decades.

Yeah. I read in his wiki that in 2017 he was diagnosed with lung cancer, had part of his lung removed and refused chemo because he didn't want his hair to fall out.

Article says his doc gave him the all clear. I really don't believe that. Could easily be a case of wiggle words. I hope not.

I think that one of these brothers sings better than the other.

Can't find a single reason not to admire this cover. And let's keep in mind that the Stones themselves started out as a cover band.

Janis Joplin sings Bobby McGee in the studio for the first time. I don't know if it is as accessible as the album version, but I really like it.

Loved it. I used to play a little guitar, and it kills me now that I never played a 5 string.
