Funny you should mention that Res, because I listened to your link today while getting some cleanup done, and when she mentioned that video I knew it had to be the video that my QAnon neighbor had directed me to a few weeks ago. You have some heavy resolve, because I couldn't get past the 4 minute mark of the "things that make you go hmmm" video. There wasn't enough claimed in the intro about the fires to research, but then it moved on to child vaccinations and chemtrails. I actually spent a good two or three hours just researching those topics and trying to condense a response to those items such that a complete f-tard can understand it. I have those notes ready should I ever run into the guy again and if he brings his delusions up, I will offer to email him my response up to minute 4 of the first video. My point would be, given the outright fabrications up to that point, why should I continue?
Res wrote: And it perpetuates the biggest of lies — that Q disciples are researching and thinking for themselves when they are obviously not doing so. The film spoon feeds them a narrative then tells them what to “research.” It simply propels its viewers into confirmation bias. There is not a hint of skepticism, except towards all information sources that conflict with its dramatic and outright crazy assertions.
Exactly, Res. And this is a tactic from today's conspiracy culture on youtube. I began noticing this ploy from others a while back.

Dean Robbers, that’s the film. And as painful as it is, it’s worth watching the film and the debunking for educational purposes. Every piece of the crazy stuff that QAnoners believe is in this film.

Q-anon appears to have started organically, but this film show that it either has developed into a full fledged cult with Trump as cult leader (whether he understands that or not) or it has been developed into a cult. I’d love to see some investigative journalism done into who was involved in the making of this documentary and how word of it traveled through the internet. And if it is all the work of one woman in Holland, why it became so dominant so quickly.

We understand enough about how brains work to explain why people buy into conspiracy theories. We should be smart enough to figure out how to inoculate people against being fooled into joining conspiracy based cults.

This is every bit as much a cult as the People’s Temple, only they aren’t isolated in Central America. They’re isolated in terms of information from the rest of the country, but dispersed across it physically. And they’re leader is a vengeful, narcissistic, lunatic. I think it’s worth spending some time understanding why these cultists believe what they do.

I thought QAnon started with Russian disinformation specialists who had been assigned to support Trump.

I haven't seen any evidence or reports of evidence to that effect. Given their efforts in 2016, it wouldn't surprise me if we found that the GRU amplified the message through fake accounts and bots, although I don't know whether anyone in a position to know has investigated it.

Read the OP Penguin, and tell me how that could possibly make sense.

An unformed society of cranks, oddballs, borderline personalities, and multivariate liars would have preceded the later Russian Disinformational Specialists. They are now a dysfunctional amalgam for Trump.

Instead of q-drops they should’ve gone with q-tips. A real missed opportunity there.
