Airlines trialing lie flat seating for coach travelers

Wasn't sure where to post this so starting another thread. It's COVID related. Airlines are trialing lie flat seating for flyers willing to pay the cost of extra seats. In this way you are socially distancing while onboard aircraft and get some sleep in coach. I would definitely do this if I were flying overnight. I can't sleep at night on an airplane. Not red eye, not nothing. Proven fact. Three seats and I'm good for an international flight!

I always thought the sleep pods in The Fifth Element sci fi flick were pretty awesome.
To make your flight as short as possible, our flight attendants are switching on the sleep regulator, which will regulate your sleeping during the flight.

First, props to screenwriters Luc Besson & Robert Mark Kamen for absolutely nailing annoying airline doublespeak. “Regulate your sleeping” means “knock you unconscious,” and even when Korben raises a finger to interject, the flight attendant ignores him and presses a button to begin “regulating his sleep.”

Given that ignoring passenger interruptions is standard operating procedure, it’s a nice design feature that the berths are horizontal and less than a meter tall.

:o :o :o :o :o

On behalf of the claustrophobics of the world. We are horrified by a sense of impending doom just thinking about that.

I'd pay for it too. But how is flying any safer than going to church?

Take an ambien.
Three seats and I'm good for an international flight!
Where are you even allowed to fly internationally now?

My wife and kids just returned from Brazil. Before their flight left Rio, an older man had his mask dropped under his chin and was coughing hard near my son. My wife told the flight attendant, so she came back to ask the man if he could keep his mask on. He acted apologetic, said he was sorry and put it on. As soon as she walked away he immediately took it off again and began coughing. Another older woman went to tell the attendant again, so she returned to instruct him to keep it on. Same thing happened. He apologized, said he forgot to keep it on, acted all innocent, and as soon as she turned her back to him he immediately removed his mask a third time.

An elderly couple was recording this on their cellphone, showed the attendant what the man was doing and threatened to post the video on social media if they did not do something about this. So after a few minutes, a couple of armed men escorted him off the plane. He pitched a fit about it of course, but everyone else was clapping.

I can't. And even if I could, I wouldn't.

Does everyone here need to lead you by the nose?

And everyone of them on that plane has probably been exposed. Was the entire plane quarantined upon arrival in the US? Well at least this has a 99.96% survival rate and thankfully most of us don't realize we're infected at all. You can't tell me there's any way we're not all going to be exposed to this. This has been a colossal waste of money thanks to fear mongering from the mainstream media.

I was just curious how many people were travelling around the world still but Icarus's story kind of helped answer that for me.
CDC recommends getting tested 1-3 days before your flight AND 3-5 days after your trip AND stay home for 7 days. Even if you test negative, stay home for the full 7 days.
I somehow doubt many people on that flight got tested or stayed home the full 7 days before they got to Atlanta.

You're an epic moron who doesn't understand anything about viruses. Repeating everything you read from Brietbart proves this. The fear mongering mostly began in February on FOX News. I know this because I was pointing it out on Social Media that they were covering this issue relentlessly because they were trying to avoid talking about the impeachment. Once it became clear that a pandemic would hurt their dear lord's chances of winning reelection, they shifted gears and began downplaying it. The shift was amazingly hilarious as one day they were scaring people, and then next day they were telling people it was just the flu.

by the way, I get tested every week.

I go shopping, I ride around town, I even go to restaurants on occasion. And yet, I've never contracted the virus. Am I lucky? Maybe, but I also wear a mask everywhere I go and I try to keep a good distance from anyone I see.

There have only been a couple people in our neighborhood who've been infected. The point is, you're a moron for saying "everyone will get it" therefore stop trying to not get it. That's just the dumbest advice in the world, and anyone suggesting it while licensed to practice medicine should be banned from the medical profession entirely.
