Hey, can you newshounds keep us up to date on this story? Hope this was not a portent of more Trumpian anti-democracy actions to come.

Isn't this the second time in a week that you've noticed air space getting shutdown in anticipation of something?

I think it goes something like this:

camper rigged with bomb = semi-recluse middle-aged white guy with electronics hobbies and grudge against government. Voted for Trump and there's some room for inferring influence from right-wing sources, but probably a one-off thing.

but then -- how do you explain the air space?

Yet AT&T services across middle of state are out and FAA airspace shutdown....for a suicide.
Is this the part where you tell us all how you knew early on it was Richard Jewell?

The airspace was shut down for one nautical mile around the site. That could also be useful for keeping out looky-loo drones.

You may also have noticed that most suicides don’t involve RV’s packed with explosives detonating on public streets. Nevertheless, the FAA’s action isn’t because of ‘a suicide’ so much as a really big boom, to put it in terms that you might better understand.

The bombing occurred outside the AT&T transmission building on Second Ave North. That might explain why ATT is experiencing some issues.

The RV was probably filled with ballots. ; )

The reason I suggest suicide, with a little statement on the side, is the fact that it appears he wanted to avoid human causalities, as he provided the warning broadcast.

I agree with dantana regarding the suicide and public warnings because that's what makes the most sense to me. Also because there are reports of human remains in the explosion site. I have a friend whose adult child works in the Lyft building there. That building received some damage though not total destruction. Just mentioning.

Reports say Anthony Quinn Warner left his property in Tennessee to a woman in California. If I'm correct, it was a woman's voice who made the bomb announcement from the RV. This is the weird inverse of the Las Vegas attack. Two men pack it all in, leave their property to women, and go off to kill themselves. One tries to take out as many people as possible, while the other broadcasts an announcement to minimize casualties.

A lone-wolf infrastructure attack seems like a quixotic way to go out. Perhaps he saw himself as the John Brown of the next Civil War, trying to be the spark that ignites the flame. There area a lot of unknowns.
